What's new

Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

At this point, the following 10 players should be expected to go in the lottery and thus be off the board for the Jazz:
Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett, Ja Morant, Cam Reddish, Jarrett Culver, Deandre Hunter, Keldon Johnson, Rui Hachimura, Bol Bol, Sekou Doumbouya

So 15 players the Jazz would be looking at would include:
Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Darius Garland, Romeo Langford, Jaxson Hayes, Nassir Little, Brandon Clarke, Coby White, Kezie Okpala, Jontay Porter, PJ Washington, Goga Bitadze, Kevin Porter Jr., Daniel Gafford, Tyler Herro, maybe Isaiah Roby

Hey, check out this guy Chuma Okeke at Auburn -- 11.3 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.6 spg, 1.2 bpg, .358 3pt on 3.7 att/game. Seems like a value pick.

He lists 6'8", 230 lbs, 7'0" ws. He's a switchy defender on the floor and in the post.

Started scouting more in depth last night. Got stuck watching Deandre Hunter... I like that kid. He seems to have a great feel for the game, especially at his age.

if the Jazz are going to make a draft day trade this would be my target. maybe this years pick and future first might be enough. I dont know

Here's a guy who's built like Amir Johnson and can shoot. He's fairly athletic if he can get a running start. He may be a bit more mobile, but I'm not sure he's better than Sagaba Konate.

I am a huge fan of pascal and he is one of the tops on my list for the Jazz. He is being grossly misused this year at nova. He plays way to much on the wing instead of a big inside. He is best suited to be a robin to a batman.

Darius Bazley has fallen off the radar, since he's doing his internship with New Balance and passing on college and the G-League. He's got some upside though and might be worth taking on as a project.

there is something about Bazley that makes me question his mental make up. I can't remember what it is but he worries me.

What would be funny is if he gets drafted in the second round and has to spend a couple years in the gleague. The league he decided not to play in

I think Chuma Okeke is draftable starting around 18-20, maybe higher. He can do a bit of everything. Career 37% 3-pt shooter. Good athlete. Great defensive reactions as shown by rebounds on the move and two blocks against Ja Morant.

I'm starting to like him as much as OG Anunoby.

He's physically underdeveloped. He needs at least 15 lbs. He has athleticism, fluidity and ball skills that are unique for a 6'9"/6'10" player. Not sure about the mental makeup, but he needs more strength for his tools to come into play. If he hits, he has some star potential. If not, he's like Chris McCullough from Syracuse that didn't make it.

Luka Samanic should be on the Jazz's short list for the late first round. Good size. Good athleticism. Good skillset. Still young. He sets a good benchmark.

He'd be getting more pub if he played in the NCAA

Matisse Thybulle's defensive stats are off the charts -- 3.5 steals and 2.2 blocks per game as a guard. Interesting guy to look at in the 2nd round. He can hit spot-up 3s too.

Chuma Okeke with a good game in Auburn's upset of Tennessee -- 22 pts (9-14, 3-5 from 3-pt), 5 rebs & 4 stls. Look for him to rise a bit on draft boards.

General highlights and a few athletic moves --

i know we discussed dylan windler a bit in last year's draft thread, not sure if he's been brought up yet in this 2019 thread, but dude is having a monster year. probably one of the top 5 in all of college basketball. 22 and 11, 55% FGs, 44% 3pt (on 7 attempts per game), TS% of 69%. worth a watch tonight vs Ja Morant in the OVC championship game.
