For Jazz ,4 team race (Portland,Houston,Dallas,Utah) 3 make it

It's well within reach.

Why are so many fans so chicken-**** about facing good teams in the playoffs?

It's not that anyone is scared. It's about who the Jazz match up with the best. Of the top 4 teams I'd put them in this order (best matchup to worst matchup):

Clippers
Warriors
Thunder
Spurs

You think we have a better chance against the Warriors than the Thunder?? You'd rather have the 8 than the 6??? How? Why?

Agree on the Spurs though.

We do. Despite the couple of games we had against both. GSW lost 4 games all season, and they're barely trying.

I consider Dallas basically a lock. They've played consistently solid basketball the entire season. I think it's more that we have 4 team race with two to make it -- us, Rockets, Blazers and Kings for two slots.

Good news is that the Rockets and Blazers literally play each other three times over the next two and a half weeks. The Kings, while they have dropped recently, have a decently easy schedule coming up -- 4 of their next 6 games are against the Sixers, Nets and Nuggets. Of course, they then enter a really tough patch with the Spurs 2x, Thunder, Clips, Grizz and Mavs comprising their next six games after that. They also play the Cavs. That's definitely the make/break stretch for the Kings.

We have to T.C.B. heading into the all star break (beating Buck and Suns and then one of Mavs or Pelicans), and then start playing consistent basketball on the road. Our schedule post All Star break is perfectly average, with good teams, bad teams, and teams around our skill level. We have a crucial road game at the Blazers later this month -- if the Blazers win, they secure the tiebreaker. Basically, we play teams like the Rockets, Blazers. Mavs, Celtics, teams that aren't bad by any means but aren't great either. Teams that we should be able to beat if we have any business considering ourselves a legit playoff team.

if the jazz somehow beat the warriors 1st round from the 8th seed it would be up there with some of the greatest upsets.

1. 2007: Warriors (42-40) over Mavericks (67-15), 4-2
2. 1994: Nuggets (42-40) over Sonics (63-19), 3-2
3. 2011: Grizzlies (46-36) over Spurs (61-21), 4-2

I don't think we have a realistic chance of beating either in a 7 game serious. I just think the Jazz will be more competitive against GS. I want the Jazz to get as high a seed as possible. just my list of how we match up is all.

Clippers
Spurs
Warriors
Thunder

KD and Westbrook will eat us alive. Same thing with Curry. I feel like we have a much better shot at defending against the Spurs attack than we do GSW or OKC.

The Spurs have completely dismantled Utah twice now. I feel like they just have our number.

Wow. I think we have a waaaaay better chance of beating the Thunder than the Spurs or Warriors. Like not even close.

I could easily see us taking OKC to 6 games maybe 7 if we are rolling.

Spurs is a 4 game sweep. 4 blowouts.

Warriors would handle us easily in 4 or 5.

I like our chances against the Clippers if we somehow beat out Memphis.
