What's new

For those of you BYU pukes cheering Jimmer...

Sorry Bodhi... You're not so kickass when you only have 4 green lights under your handle...

Keep working on it though, you have a much smaller hill to climb then I do... Only one green light and I'm sure this thread doesn't help my status there either... LOL

Don't let the green lights fool ya, fella......

Nothing poisons a family, community, friendship, society, etc. than arguing religion and politics. I don't care how anyone feels about the LDS Church (I'm not LDS) or any other religion. Take it off the board, please.

You're right... Not a cool thing to do on my part... It was very childish and immature...

I have lived in all parts of the US and I travel abroad for work. No matter where I go, I always get amused by folks from one religion telling folks from another religion what their religion believes, teaches etc. Believe what you want but always safer to go to the source.

My wife was a very stout Mormon who was very knowledgeable about the church... Not to mention very strong in her faith at the time and a stubborn individual to boot...

If she can turn... And she did... Then that tells me all I need to know... Just saying...

I forgive you, my son.

Seriously, it's all good. We're fans and like they say, "fan" is derived from the same word as "fanatic." I understand how you can be bothered by someone cheering for an opposing player. For me, it really sets me off when I hear people clapping for Kobe.

Yeah, but this is a situation you really can't avoid (Kobe Bryant I mean)... There are so many bandwagon Laker fans it is simply ridiculous... My NFL team the Vikings, have the same issue with the Packers... Their fans are like locusts (no pun intended) and they spread like a disease... LOL...

In Jimmer's case (or Bogut or Andre Miller), I can at least understand there's a local connection. With Kobe, Lebron, etc. there's not and it really chaps my hide.

LOL... I hear ya...

Every church has very stout people who turn away for one reason or the other. Name me a faith and I can name you a person of note who "turned." Guess that tells me all I need to know about any organized religion. In fact, not everyone who personally knew Jesus when he was alive remained a Christian. But I won't base my belief in Christ on what one particular person says or does, no matter how much I may respect them personally or professionally.

Wait I don't get it people spend their own money to go to an arena and be entertained and they do it by cheering for some one you do not like and their religion sucks. So if I go to the staples center I have to cheer for the lakers because it is their arena? (what if they are playing the clips do I just root for the home team then?)

Oh well your view of religion doesn't translate to your view of basketball they contradict.
