Man, I just read the entire Rick Reily article on Jimmer. I seriously couldn't believe how brutal it was. The Isuzu dealer remark was the nicest thing Rick had to say about him by far. However, I found the most damning statement in the article came from the mouth of Jimmer's very own teammate:
Really Martineau? You trash your own teammate for his complete lack of defensive effort and then follow it up by saying he'll "definitely" improve his defense once he gets to the NBA. This only enforces my belief that Jimmer simply likes shooting much more than he likes playing defense. That's a BIG problem and it's certainly not going to get any better once he gets to the NBA but look luck telling that to the Jimmer fanboys on this board.
"The weird thing is, [his defense] has gotten progressively worse over the year," says Fredette's own teammate, Nick Martineau. "From the start, he's never really been accountable to it, but it's just gotten looser as the year's gone on. But he can play defense. He really can. He'll definitely tighten it up for the NBA."
