I’m already ready to assume that anyone who Utah signs in the future will not be the number scoring option on the team.

Well then I really don't think Klay wants to sign up for his same role on a worse team.

Why? Oubre is a role player. He isnt putting the jazz over the top and you usually have to overpay for RFA. And Oubre is like on the bottom of the list of NBA players who I think would want to live in Utah.

A lot will depend on what happens with Hood. If someone goes bids crazy with Hood, we could lose a key wing for nothing. Oubre is a role player now, but might be ready for a bigger role in 2 years. He isn't much older than Mitchell. Some young players you simply have to take a leap of faith in if you want to steal them away. The sure things will always be matched. Washington probably isn't willing to start throwing away future 1sts to dump salary and retain Oubre - he's not that sure of a thing. So I see it as an opportunity. Utah probably wouldn't be his first choice, but he did work out for us a few years ago.
