Free Alec Burks

At this very moment in time I think it is debatable that he is not better than Burcs, I am 100% confident that Burcs will get better but right now I dont think he is better than Foye.
I agree. And Foye is every bit a chucker that Burks is. But like coach Johnson said on the post game, if he plays good d the coaches will let him chuck a few.

I have no problem with Foye getting minutes. In my opinion, it's not a Foye or Burks decision.

My problem is Tinsley got 18 minutes. And it's not like he was playing well either. He was horrible. Dallas didn't even pretend to guard him, yet he still missed all of his shots except for a layup.

Give those minutes to Burks and he finishes with 20 minutes.

Also Carroll's 16 minutes should have gone to Favors and Kanter (with Milsap getting time at backup sf). And then the minutes would have looked like this:
Jefferson: 28
Milsap: 30
Marvin Williams: 29
Hayward: 25
Mo Williams: 29
Kanter: 20
Favors: 25
Foye: 21
Burks: 20
A few garbage time minutes for Evans, Murphy, Carroll, Tinsley, whoever.

The minutes should look like this every night, with minor adjustments for guys playing really well or really bad.

No matter how bad anyone thinks Burks is, there is absolutely no doubt that he is much better than Tinsley, with tons of potential to improve.

The trouble is that neither Foye or Burks seems comfortable running the offense, at least not yet. Maybe when that happens, Foye will just play the point and Burks will get his minutes at SG.

Well the offense didn't look too good playing 4 on 5 with Tinsley on the floor either.

This. If Foye or Burks can get to the point of being able to run the offense at least fairly well that would go a long ways to Burks getting more minutes.

Burks makes most sense at PG:

2012-13 Season Per/36 stats:
Points: 0
FG%: N/A
3P%: N/A
Reb: 0
Ast: 15.9
PF: 0

Looks like a prototypical "pass-first" kind of guy. As a bonus, he stays out of foul trouble.

I was at the game and my voice is horse from yelling "BRING IN BURKS". It's obvious that the Jazz have no interest in developing Burks. They might as well trade him if they are just going to let him rot on the bench. If it would have been closer at the end, he would have got a dnp-coaches decision. It's a good thing I'm not GM, or I would have Ty on the carpet for that decision.

One game makes it obvious that he wont play this year. Yep. Trade him.

It wouldn't bother me so much if Alec hadn't clearly showed that he could play. Loved Locke trying to sell this as "well it may be Randy Foye long term and to the future, he's still young and the Jazz could lock him up" after the game.

You have given out too much Reputation in the last 24 hours, try again later. Great post though.

There will be injuries this year. Burks will be fine. Our bench is deep and I love watching this team. We will be fine.

Yes, because, you know, Millsap could have stopped their three point shooting like, you know, Carroll did at small forward.
