What's new

Fun info from tonight's jazz practice

Found it amusing how lackadaisical Burkes response was to Gordon Hayward's return or departure. I'm curious besides Jeremy Evans who Hayword actually had a strong connection with on the team and how much influence he had on the team as a leader. I have found this very hard to gauge........
Trey probably bullied him everyday in practice wet willying him and call in him a "bitch *** white boy" In fact, the whole team prolly did.

Prolly why he wants out so bad. Poor kid. So submissive.

This has me excited as hell. Wasn't his shot one of the biggest concerns? Also this kid is smart. Both about the game and this fan base. Asking for Stockton to come in is damn smart in learning and in getting the fans behind him. Kids smart.

Good to hear about the focus on D and the way Burke and Exum worked together.

@DJJazzyJody: Dante Exum said he's going to ask the Jazz to bring John Stockton in to work with him.
I was worried about him simply because there wasn't anything to really truly evaluate him with, but he's really endearing himself to me right now. He's bright, well-spoken and hard working. That goes a long way for me. Hopefully he can shoot a basketball too. I like his demeanor and his attitude. I had him lower on my board than others simply because I felt there wasn't enough information to risk a top 5 pick. . . but I'm feeling better and better about the selection with each passing day.

It looks pretty bad to me, not too natural... hope he can get his shot consistent though. Erik Murphy's shot looks pretty darn good.

Murphy did look good. I'm really hoping that he becomes the surprise player to make the roster and contribute a lot more than we expect him to - ala Junkyard Dog and Diante Garrett.

Erik Murphy the new Erik Piatowski. Dude could shoot it.

Let him rain 3s in Vegas baby. I want to see if it's something that he can do at the NBA level off the bench eventually. Of all the guys at the bottom of the roster, he's the one that intrigues me the most. We know he can shoot the ball, but I'm also hoping that four years under Billy Donovan and most of a season under TT will have taught him something about defense as well.

Seriously though, everyone goes to visit Stockton. It doesn't make them good after.
If the player is good they will be good even if they don't visit Stock.

probably true, but it's a good sign when young players show a willingness to learn from the Jazz legends. To me it shows that a player wants to go the extra mile to get better. Not all players make this kind of effort, i.e Boozer and Hayward.

It's like a trip to Mecca. Everyone has to go once in their lifetime. Alternately, bigs can now go fishing with Malone as their rite of passage.
