What's new

Game #12 Jazz@Denver, Sunday 1/15 6:00 p.m.

Unbelievable game. Something is really happening here. And it all goes back to Ty's defense. I really thought Ty needed a defensive specialist on his staff, turns out he's the only guy we needed.

Looking at the box score only one player didn't play above and beyond and that would be CJ. Great game to watch tonight. Loved the hustle plays, Tinsley jumping off the bench, and the semi awkward Sap and Al hug.

The story of this game, and the evolving story of the season is the Al/Sap combo. The big difference is last year they played with each other, this year they're playing OFF each other. It's a joy to watch. There is literally no team in the NBA who can adequately cover both those guys on the floor.

Look at tonight. We opened with Al killing Mogzev (admittedly on too many jumpers). But as the game went on, Sap got matchups other than Nene like Harrington who he killed. He even killed Nene several times. And Ty's strategy was keep feeding the two headed monster in the post. So beautiful.

Both my teams won. A nice for me, indeed. Not to mention Tintin winning as well.
Turning my cheers to the 49ers. I've always been huge fans of both the Packers and the 49ers, I was just hoping to see them go head-to-head for the Division. Oh well!

Man, we are a deep team. But deep isn't talent. Deep is how every guy that comes on the floor fits right back into the machine. This team has so much chemistry.

I look forward to seeing them in a season or two, to see how far they've come. I don't expect much this season, and I am already being pleasantly surprised. I can only hope they continue to move forward, I don't want to see them stuck any time soon.

On the negative side, Ty has to start changing up the offense when Kanter/Favors are on the floor. I totally get his wanting those guys to run the same things that Al/Sap do. But they can't. We can't run a post offense with those dudes in the game. For now, we need to run much more PnR with those guys. Dropping the ball into Favors on the block is a total waste.

Here's one thing about Favors: I want to see him develop a post game like anybody. But it's not going to happen this year. He's too far away. On the plus side, Favors CAN develop a PnR game this year. And honestly, he looks like an Amare type player. I really doubt he'll ever score on the block like Al. So lets forget that. Lets make his offensive jump this year an ability to kill on PnR.
