Three different quotes. As a moderator, are you supposed to assist with the fan board to encourage good behavior? We had a good win and you spend your effort working over other Jazz posters and even Brown and Booner. Sheesh dude.

All of you Brown haters - cut the dude some slack. He calls a handful of games a year and makes some mistakes, big deal. We had a great win, against a decent team, with DFav lookin' great, among other positives, and you're using your JazzHaterzz energy on back-up announcers? I just don't understand this sort of fandom.

Now it suddenly makes a sense why Trey is shooting more than anyone else. He's trying to prove by his shot attempts that he's a franchise player!
 
As a Kanter supporter I have to say I've been really disappointed by his play.

I have a feeling he'll come out strong vs the Clippers.
 
I think Exum has the potential to surpass Trey at the beginning of next season. He seems to fit Quin's system better as well - he doesn't seem to be too ball dominant, he doesn't mind giving up the rock and runs the floor well. Quin wants players to attack at the 45 and Exum's length is a perfect fit for that if he improves his handle and athleticism. He also has length on defense which is ideal to stop transition baskets as was apparent with that block last night.


Burke on the other hand seems to need the ball in his hands a lot to be effective. His best attribute is shooting a 2 pointer off the dribble and that's a low %, low scoring shot. Seems to me like his shot needs to be "on" all the time to be effective on the floor. I don't think Quin likes that shot. Kinda reminds me of the Johnny Flynn & Minny situation, he was a bad fit on a team trying to run the triangle offense.

FWIW, your stats are wrong. You can't use the overall numbers for these guys, because you have to figure Burks isn't guarding them the entire game. NBA.com has this nifty defensive log and shot log for guys, so I went through it and figured it out for you.

Harden was 4/11, Ellis was 2/4 and Dragic was 2/7 against Burks. Now I believe how this is calculated is that the closest player to the shooter gets the credit/blame, so if somebody was to drive on Burks and score/miss, Favors/Kanter could get the blame/credit. So it's a fallible stat.

In addition, Burks has a defensiveFG% of 58.3%. So he's allowing players to shoot that percentage. Hayward is at 54.8%, Trey is at 44.4%, Exum is at 42.1% and Favors is at 30.8%. Now this is a really small sample size, so I wouldn't take much from it. Just wanted to point out that statistically, Burks isn't playing that great of defense.

Now as a disclaimer, there is a chance I'm misinterpreting the data, so if I am, I apologize…I don't think I am though.

The runs Phoenix had came off Utah missing outside shots. If the Jazz could have made their 3's, it would have been a 40-pt victory.

The new Jazz have seen the Suns before in the preseason and were able to refine their game plan. I suspect that when they face Houston again, the 3 point defense will adjust and be better.
