Game 3 Thread: 6:30 PM MT Time

I love this team. I love Hayward for the player he's become and I love Rudy for the relentlessness and fight. I love Joe for being sloppy and a general nuisance for opponents. I love Favors for even trying to play through all his injuries throughout the year...

We are just outmatched in this one. We might have a chance on a perfect day with everybody healthy, but you cannot expect a team without two of its starters to be a match for quite possibly the best team ever assembled firing on all cylinders.

I love this team. I just hope those are not the last games we see of this team in its current form.

Did anyone mention the Jazz Bear getting harassed by KD? JERK.

I have an extra green shirt from tonight. Who wanted to buy one?
Ya then KD gets into with a fan and then with gobert.
Wtf dude

Well, it was a fun season while it lasted. I mean, they might pull it out on Monday, but I wonder if this game just did them in.

This game is a microcosm of why I want anyone to beat the Warriors. Getting Durant has made this playoffs awful. This might be a competitive series without him, and it's not like the Warriors weren't a great team before they had them. I don't think it'll happen, but I'll be rooting for the Spurs and Cavs massively coming up.

Quin went too long with Mack

Ingles is a waste this series he is just making stupid fouls

Hayward put up numbers but they dont mean anything because is weak minded and disappears all the time

Our crowd is weak where is an OKC chant or Westbrook chant

The warriors are treating us like bi@$&es slapping us and hitting us and we are like im sorry i got in your way

We didnt take advantage of Green when he went mental basket case

I mean, we have one superstar and a star in Rudy. We need another one. GSW realized that and got Durant. Cleveland has 3

Hayward isnt superstar if likes of Durant and Lebron are superstars. Hayward is superstar if they are megastar or godlystar...

If this team were healthy, I think we could easily push this to a 6 game series. George Hill was ****ing incredible this season pre-toe injury. It's just sad how it ended up. It's cool to see Hayward going up and putting up great games vs an all-time great team and Gobert playing great also. There is something to be said about finding out Hayward/Gobert are more than just "consistently productive players". I think they are legitimate stars.

In all 3 games they were playing lower standards of theirs. And we werent doing really bad. And yet they got 3 wins in double digits. It is quite an illusion to say if we were healthy...
They are just way better and we dont have any firepower to match theirs. With Hill healthy and everyone playing their best, we could grab 1 win. Now its like a sweep.

Too much "imagination" necessary for this team over last couple years. Gets old.

It's time to take a reality check. We aren't as deep and awesome and we hyped ourselves up to be.

And our team is full of injury prone inconsistent players like Burks, Hood, Hill, Favors. At least Hayward and Gobert have been healthy.

Me too just want to see the warriors lose.

My observations from last nights game:

THe positives: Rudy and Hayward showed they belong in this type of game. The overall team defense was very good. The team played really hard. I thought Mack did a decent job.

The reality: Jazz do not have enough shot makers. Guys who can break down other players. Jazz team athleticism is below average and really showed last night with their inability to get the loose balls. Diaw and JJ especially looked like they were wearing cement shoes. Favors looked like a sixty year old man. Warriors are the measuring stick so last night showed how far the Jazz need to improve offensively to win against the best team in basketball. Defensively, the Jazz are fine but unless they get more guys who can make shots they are going to struggle to beat the top teams in the playoffs.

The future: Jazz should not throw big money at Hill or Favors due to injuries issues. Favors looks like an old man out there. Yea I know he is hurt but is his issue really going to get better. Pretty much everyone is expendable except Gobert and Hayward. The Jazz MUST keep Hayward. If they lose him it will set the franchise back 5 years. Jazz need another legitimate all-star. I would love it if the Jazz could either trade for Butler or convince Paul George to sign with us. Yea I know it isn't happening but one can dream.

The draft should target players who are tough minded, athletic players. THe Jazz need to really hit a home run with one of their picks. Everyone one on the roster is expendable except for Hayward and Gobert. It is time to get more vets who are not passed their primes to boaster our roster. This team is not as deep as we would like to think it is especially with our injury-prone players.

Favors and Burks- Can they return to the players they were? I am not that confident they can.
Exum seems to be in Quinn's doghouse. Does he have the mental ability to play in the NBA? Right now I have my doubts that he will ever become the alpha dog we need. I have not given up completely on him yet but this is a big off season for him. I am not against trading him but think he has little value to do so. I"ll give him one more year but would put him in a package if it would help us get an all-star.

Hill, again I am concerned about his toe. Is this going to be a chronic injury. There is no way I give him a big contract. I would like to re-sign him at a reasonable price with limited years.

Hood- his inconsistency makes me ok with trading him. I know he has some ability to make shots and Jazz need shot makers but his lack of mental toughness drives me crazy. I don't really feel he knows he can be really good. His history even in college shows that when he is hot he can be an all-star level player but when he can't make shots then he is pretty useless. I still want to keep him unless we can package him to get some one like Butler. He has become more tradable after watching him in the playoffs.

Now that the Jazz have had some playoff experience, it is time to redo the roster to take it to the next level. There are going to be some tough decisions this summer but for me they have become obvious that they need to be made. I am excited about the future but it is obvious that changes need to be made in order to move up to the next level.
