What's new

Game #39 Jazz at Pistons 5:30 Mtn.

I don't feel any more confident having Earl bring up the ball opposed to Burks/Foye. I would agree bringing in a point guard who can protect the ball and get it over the half court line, but Earl isn't him.

Earl is an NBA point guard. If he has ONE redeeming facet of his game that isn't a lob pass, it's his ability to dribble against pressure.

So who does he take out? Hayward? That would have gone over just as well, eh? I don't think taking out a big is useful in that situation, either.

Sounds like you think he did the exact right thing then huh? Well we saw how badly it worked, so it would seem that you and corbin have not idea how to handle a big lead at the end of a game.

Wrong..... i would not have blasted corbin for going with what was working, that would have been the right thing to do.

Big time momentum shift with the last couple of plays. You guys all blast Corbin for not calling for timeouts or reacting to what's going on on the court. He does that and gets blasted.

Actually right after he came in the game he could not even get the ball over the half court line and had to have hayward come over to help him.

He might have been an nba point guard a few years ago, but it is obvious to everyone (other than you) that he is washed up right now.

Personally, I had no problem with the subs. I'm with Duck on Watson, and Al played very well on D tonight. That said, at some point you have to take the training wheels off Burks.

The one thought I had was that I would have liked to see Burks get the ball on the final possession. The thing with Hayward is nobody respects his ability to drive. So an end of game PnR with him is kind of worthless. It "worked" tonight by luck, but at the end of a game you want a guy handling the ball who is an actual threat.

I didn't see the play after the timeout, so I don't know what happened there. I saw the one where he passed to Hayward because it seems like he thought he lost his dribble or something. He had open space down the court.

It was actually just a bad play by Watson. He picked up his dribble for almost no reason. Mistakes happen.
