Big Al only knows one kind of offense. His own. When he does his ******** trying to score with 2 or 3 people on him without EVER passing, i`d yank him almost every time.
Sure his push shot has been going in some lately, but Big Al only knows 2 things: selfishness and lazyness.
No way Big Al will ever be on a really good team, cause his play will never allow for good team play.

indeed. If I'm coaching a team I want as many as 4 Tony Allens. We'd be so much better with him.

after the flop on the road the refs shouldn't call a foul for said player for atleast 3 trips down. that will teach players flopping. knowing its open season because said player flopped.
I certainly hope that Hayward becomes more than a sith man. However tThe more I think about that they less it bothers me. They can't all be superstars. I want Hayward to be a 2. Therefore if Burks really turns into what he appears to be turning into then Hayward being his backup is fine with me. That settles the 2 along with the 4 and 5. Only leaves two real holes on this team.
I want them to be borderline dirty. As long as they keep the fouling to a mangeable level. Get those extra bumps, get all over your man, set those extra hard picks...
I had to watch the replay of the game, it was a good game.
The reffing was interesting.
The best part was the defense, they did a good job.
Gasol is a beast, I don't know what his stats were but I don't remember him missing many shots.
The guards/wings were aggressive defensively, and there were a few really good defensive plays by many players.
Watson looked to be the best PG offensively, and he seemed to get other players good looks.
Hayward, Burks, and Howard seem to have some drives negated by charging calls (mostly the first 2). They need to drive, but stop before they run over the person trying to take the charge, jump and shoot it from there. The guy waiting for the charge will not jump to contest the shot in most cases and it will be an open 5-9 footer.
I didn't notice CJ in the game, which was nice actually, but I still saw Bell playing in the 4th quarter.
The 4th quarter had some interesting rotations that seemed to be quite effective. It's nice to see Corbin using rotations based on what's effective rather than some sort of set schedule. Set schedules for rotations are good when you are winning so guys know when they will play, but useless if you are losing or in close games if you are just putting guys on the floor because of the clock and not a match up. Putting the best match up on the floor is way more important than a player knowing when they will play, and for how long unless they screw up.

The best thing I've been noticing in the 4 home games thus far is the Jazz starting with energy and intensity(for the most part). Not completely bending over and waiting for the bench to come in to pick it up like last season/season before. And it seems the Jazz aren't letting the opposing team dictate the tempo, they're playing their game regardless of what's going on. Keep it up, this team is quite fun to watch.

The jazz had their best turnover of the season last night. There was a play when Kanter attempted an interior pass, in traffic. It was a gutsy pass and, for me, it clearly signals the work the team is doing on the offense. I got to go last night, thanks for the last minute ticket hook-up. With all the empty seats in the arena there should be some deals to be had on almost every game.
I've criticized Raja, but after watching last night I'm going to make a couple of statements in his defense. I expect no mercy.
For those of you who liked the defense, you should at least acknowledge Raja. For those who liked that the Jazz dictated the tempo, you need to absolutely acknowledge Raja. In the first quarter when Memphis was jumping out, Raja gothis hands on a couple of early passes and took a charge that seriously impacted Memphis runs.
Big Al had to be the most impressive player for either team, because every time he got the ball in the post everyone was watching, including his 4 teammates who just stood there in awe. He did pass it out of the post twice on one play only to get it back right back and go to work. I would describe big Al's style as uneventful. He rebounds, he blocks, he scores in the post but there was nothing to wow about. He is slow and deliberate.
The other black hole of offense is Burks. Kid has never seen a shot he didn't like. His teamates like to watch him play too, but not to the same degree of Al watching. Burks pushed the tempo, and played out of control on both ends. I thought Coach was going to pull him, interesting that he did not. I think I was less impressed than most here.
Hayward is half a step slow on offense, a step too far off his man on defense. He is in all the right places, plays calm and under control, but he might be second team material.
Coach Corbin is playing a crazy game of Chicken with his team. His rotations give almost everyone a chance to play and contribute.
