What's new

Game Thread: 2/20/12 San Antonio at Utah, 8 eastern

No need to rush a deal if a good one isn't available. Al will be become much more valuable next year when he is an expiring.

if his value has a lot to do with his contract, then that doesn't create a strong argument for playing him 30+ minutes a night. He's still an expiring.

is he worth a lot more because he plays 30+ a night on a team that his riding him to a losing record? I don't think so. Let him put up his numbers and sit when it counts. Give the future that experience.

but go ahead and neg rep me again for these opinions. I'm piling up the pos rep while you're the sole homer****

We should probably send a letter to the front office to share this idea. It's as simple as swapping Jefferson for Chris Paul. And maybe they'd throw in Griffin as filler.

God, it doesn't have to be Chris Paul... it doesn't have to be near Chris Paul. Nice try you jackpotter

I'm not sure Howard is having a great effect on our team or our rebuilding process. I wouldn't mind if he were part of a trade scenario.

Players generally become more valuable in their contract year, unless they are superstars who are in super high demand and are threatening to leave for a big market.

Confused by what you are trying to say in the 2nd paragraph, but Al played pretty good in the final 2 minutes of tonight's game. He hit a big shot that brought it to within 2 in the final two minutes and had some pretty good defensive possessions in the final 2 minutes.

I tried to neg rep, but it won't let me. I'll do it later if you remind me.

I'd like to see our rookies play as much as anyone, but Favors has really sucked on the boards recently: 0 rbs in 12 mins. Averaging 7.5 over the last 10 games/36 (not including tonight) and only 5.7/36 over the last 5 (including tonight). He needs to concentrate on contributing in other ways other than scoring. Kanter is averaging 16/36 over the last 5 and 13.4/36 over the last 10. O rbs is unacceptable.

Could it be that playing with Kanter (a dominant rebounder) is going to make his rebounding seem less? Not saying he shouldn't be doing better, but I bet that is a reason. There are only so many rebounds to go around.

lulzz, it makes sense that you can't read the second paragraph. That's where it really counts.

That's the most depressed I've been after a loss in ages. Utah really felt like the better team out there, but the lack of 3 point defense is just lethal to this team.

Playing an Al Jefferson-led Jazz team is like playing blackjack against a dealer. You know they have to hold at 17 and they have a 7 showing. The math gets really easy.

I feel like if we don't have good momentum going into the closing minutes of a game we are destined to give it away. With ~3:00 left tonight and down 2 pts I just had this sick feeling.
