Why are some assuming Exum is this Savior who is going to come back from a serious injury and suddenly become someone he never was. HE CAN'T SHOOT. He was afraid to drive BEFORE the injury. He was injured penetrating. If anything, there's a greater possibility he comes back even more tentative. If Exum develops into a top-tier PG, then fantastic. But he needs to be slotted in as a backup, with Raul getting DNP-CD's. Lindsey MUST find a quality starting PG. And he needs to find a couple of backup bigs who can contribute more than once every 10 games.
As for Rudy, I love the guy. But I'm not holding out hope for his offensive game. He didn't improve at all during the summer. Yes, I know he national team duties. But the guy just has terrible hands. That's why Utah DESPERATELY needs guards who can hit 3's. Hood needs to step it up. It appears he has the mechanics; does he have the mentality?
Dude, lighten up .. i mean ONE offensive move for Rudy isn't too much to hope for. And i think you're being a little too negative with Exum, sure he was awfully shy and lame in his rookie year but it's not too much of a stretch to think that he can be something close to what he showed in that summer league game. Obviously he's not going to all of a sudden be better straight away but i think you'll be pleasantly surprised within a year or two. And you seriously can't deny that if he does pan out it's the final link to the team rolling towards contending a few years down the track.
You're right about needing better outside shooting though. 100%
