Gamethread: Game 1 of the 1st Round. Utah Jazz @ Houston Rockets. 7:30 MST

Probably correct - problem being Gobert and Favors play on the court together about 8-12 minutes a game.

For this system to work, Jazz need front court players that can help-guard Capela at the rim or drop off and contest the corner 3 or crash the boards if Harden/Paul takes a floater.

You're giving two Hall of Famers too many options - this might possibly work with about 25 teams in the league - Houston is not one of them.

Perhaps we need to play Udoh at the backup center position, and make sure Favs plays along Rudy at PF against their starters the whole series. Maybe we need less spread offense and more help defense. It was madness seeing how often Gobert left his guy with no one coming over to help. Correct me if I am wrong, but weren't we playing a lot better with Gobert and Favs at the start of the 1st and 3rd quarters? Maybe we roll with that and let Udoh take the backup 5 mins.

Muy decepcionado por la absurda defensa de Ricky de Harden; Culpo a Snyder, pero Ricky se engañó a sí mismo en la ejecución.
Cada vez me gusta menos este entrenador.

Relative to who tho (other pretenders perhaps:p???) Lets use brooklyn as a counterpoint... Brooklyn is in a similar position as utah now, with a younger core and Utah had fistfuls of lotto picks at their disposal they didnt.

So i mean compared to brooklyn i'd say Utah hasn't done **** really.. and i mean they were a 20 win team 2 years ago when the jazz were "getting playoff experience"..

They aren't even close. Brooklyn is a very average team that made the playoffs only because they play in the east. The Jazz have the 4th best point differential in the entire league (+5.3), 2nd best defense, 14th best offense. Brooklyn cannot compete with them on any metric. Good lord.

Simplemente estaba probando algo distinto yo creo.

Exactly, it was pathetic; a joke.

Yes. Or, let Favors be the guy at the rim while Rudy is the helper.

Or, better, both of the above. My main gripe about game 1 is that there didn't seem to be very many wrinkles or versions of our plan.

NBAtwitter must have convinced him that Favors and Rudy can't co-exist cuz I have no idea why he is so allergic to playing Derrick the big minutes and playing the two of them together lots.

I think it's something to try if we keep trying to play Harden the same way.

Sometimes AC’s seem to have strengths or specialties.

Do we have an AC who heads up the defense?
