What's new

Gamethread: OKC Thunder @ Utah Jazz. 7PM MST.

Okc just lost to Minnesota. Close game. Seems Minnesota may be good this year. Like for real and not just expectations of being good.

they should have won by more tonight, they don't seem like they know how to close out games.

How awesome would Melo be in JJ's role?

I'm sure it's just me, but I have never been worried about any team with Melo on it. I was very happy when OKC signed him, because I felt the Melo curse was wasted on a team we saw only twice a year.

This was one game. You can't win consistently without a go to scorer.

There was one season a few years ago when the Spurs won about 60 games without a 20 pt scorer - or anyone who averaged >30 mins/per.

Then there was the 03-04 Pistons who won 54 regular-season games and a Championship when their top scorer averaged only 17.6 ppg, only one other player averaged over 15 ppg, and only four players posted a double-figure scoring average for the season. But they were a top defensive team, anchored by a really good defensive centre. Sound familiar?

Speaking of familiar, one of the guys who won a Championship ring with that team is a key member of the Jazz - assistant coach Igor Kokoskov.

And a lot of people felt the same way about Joe Johnson his entire career.

It was a duplicate and wouldn't let me delete it.
Donovan Mitchell's shooting has been impeccable this year so far. How dare any criticize 5/25 shooting. You guys are soft, yo.

I am going to love the mental gymnastics on here.

A certain injured player gets smashed on here for his play - and has done by some since his first SL.

I'm guessing some of those same people will now not allow any criticism of DM.
You wait for it, they will start using words like 'potential'.

They are going to be better than last year, but I expect OKC to turn it on later, and Minn to fade a little as the pressure mounts.
Their youth and inexperience will show up at some point.

Props to our former #20 player for anything he had to do with Joe Ingles getting his contract and Ricky Rubio joining the team - and perhaps for leaving.

No they didn't. Joe was highly criticized due to the contract that he got, but he has never been the selfish POS that Melo is. Get back to us when Melo signs with a team like Utah and accepts the kind of role Joe is playing.

Joe is the perfect vet to play the role he's playing now, and Utah should look to re-sign him as long as they are a good enough team to have a chance of getting past the first round.

Just the thought of having Melo around our young players makes me wanna puke.

Hey Melo, how would you feel about maybe playing Joe Johnson's role in Utah?...
