Wow. That's expensive. That's like the most expensive fine I've ever seen from the NBA.

I thought this might be coming... you can't be that blatant about it... sometimes as an owner you have to lie... this is one of those times.

Basically the best option they have now is to lose. Says he told the staff that... he's being honest and transparent, but in his position he can't be that way without getting the hammer dropped.

Damn, so they WERE tanking. They didn't do a very good job of it last year though, still able to get DSJ - they really lucked out there.

They've still got a top 5 dance squad in the NBA though, and IMO still the best broadcasting camera angle in the NBA...

How much y'all want to bet Cuban is already dreaming up a competitor to the NBA You know he has contemplated it the entrepreneur he is - he's going to team up with the Ball family and start the Big Baller World League, 4 point line and all. $600,000 is quite an incentive, they may be messing with the wrong man

On a more serious note, maybe that $600k number is just for show and they've planned from the beginning to settle for much less

But where would they get the players from? The G-League and undrafted players? Dunno who's gonna watch that...

Don't know, but if they excluded pot from the banned substances list I'd imagine they'd garner a few good players. There aren't that many slots for NBA players, leaves quite a good talent pool out there actually.

Lower ticket prices, get some billionaire behind it. I do honestly believe over the next 50 years basketball will gain favor over football in the USA, for a few reasons. The NFL has entire awesome plays undone do to a little holding penalty away from the ball, catches called incomplete, soooo much downtime and commercials

Some of the most exciting plays, kickoff returns, are being discouraged with rule changes due to player safety concerns

An idea to make it work, make it a public company this new basketball league, that way any joe could own shares in his team and reap dividends - that be an awesome idea, you could say own shares in the Jazz and if they win the championship you get a bonus dividend that be amazing, if you had a tiny ownership in it wouldn't you switch??
