General NBA Craziness and How it Applies to Utah

Nope, there was more than one narrative, and Hill said himself his decision depended on what Hayward would do. I mean, if you would rather believe what some reporter claimed over what Hill said himself, that's your prerogative, but that bit of info is in now way more legitimate than what Hill said himself.

Either way, everybody is an expert with hindsight. Same ole Jazzfanz.

Hill probably blames his agent for not knowing he would be injured constantly after they turned down the extension.

Relax... it came from enough sources that I believe it to be true.

Also, players lie all the damn time... maybe lie is strong... they say stuff they don't mean. What is he supposed to say? "We talked about contracts, but I'm about to get paid... 90M eff that I'm getting 130". PG was talking up how he is happy in Indiana and is a Pacer... yada yada... this week the narrative changes.

For what it is worth I though Hill would have a ton of options, but now it has shrunk... had he extended already it would help us retain Hayward.

I could see him getting less than he was offered for sure.

It is where his wife wants to live. They have a mansion there. He wants to do Hollywood stuff. He is sure he can attract any number of star players to join his next superteam.

Until they have PG, Lebron, Ball, and Ingram plus every vet minimum ring chaser.

Awful ****ing trade for the Lakers. The 2nd overall pick, still on his rookie contact, for future cap space? AWFUL!

Awful? It's going to get them the space to sign Lebron.

It was an awful signing last year by Bus. They did what they had to do to get out of it. No one was taking on Deng or Mozgov's contract if the Lakers didnt include the #2, D-Lo, or Ingram. They decided they liked D-Lo the least.

Next year is a long ways away to throw away a high pick young player to clear space for next season. They could keep looking and hope something better comes along. Teams get more desperate at trade deadlines and draft night. Plus next year that contract is a little less worse because another year is off of it.

Plus the Lakers got an extra pick in this year's draft. If they can't trade for PG, they can at least get two more decent young guys. There is still a lot of role player potential where they will be drafting.

Awful trade for a 1% chance of landing LeBron at 35. They should have just absorbed Mozgov's contract, as opposed to gifting their top prospect away. Just awful.

Absolutely agreed, they just gave away the second best guard prospect in the league (behind Booker) for cap space. Magic is dumb dumb dumb.

I wouldn't call Russell their top prospect, and with Ball coming in, it makes sense to move Russell.

However, I agree that it was too high a price to pay to dump Moz, especially when it does nothing for you until next year, and even then may end up in another FA fail.

Title is not ok. Not Jazz related. That's why there's a general sports forum.

HH's thread is ok because it is Jazz related. Says so right in the title.
Really? The topic doesn't relate to the Jazz? I thought we were all in the same league, trades impact everybody, etc.

My bad. If youre a mod, can you add "What should we do?" Or just delete it?

I think it related to the Jazz. Wasn't Brooklyn a contender to offer Hill a big deal? Now them and the 76ers are seemingly off the table.
