General NFL 2010 Regular Season Thread

Has your team had a bad season? 4-12 not good enough for you as a fan? Don't worry, the only guy with a worse record this year in the NFL is your new coach!

I hope he really was a lame duck in Carolina like many have claimed.

Fox is a good coach whose team got old.

I've always liked and respected Fox but without looking up his career stats, I feel like his teams have been wildly inconsistent and he's had a few more poor seasons than successful. He had the SB season and 12-4 season where they were the #2 seed two years ago. But he's had four or five poor or mediocre seasons too I think.

His biggest fault was sticking with Delhomme for as long as he did.

I think Fox was in a tough situation there. Delhomme took him to the Super Bowl and he felt some loyalty to him. When that started to fade after a few mediocrea nd oftentimes injury-plagued years, Delhomme played solidly one more year in a 12-4 season.

I forget who it was exactly but Fox also should have booted their offensive coordinator. Was it Henning? Whoever it was, the guy called a God awful game in that 2nd round playoff loss at home to Arizona two years ago. The Panthers had about 2,500 yards rushing that year behind a great offensive line yet the coordinator decided to get cute and let Delhomme throw pass after pass and five (or six?) picks.

Mike McCoy? The Broncos QB coach/assistant OC the past couple years and favorite to retain the job under Fox?

It was the franchise fault for waiting too long to find a Delhomme replacement giving Fox no other options. thought they passed on some pretty good Qb's in the draft, not thinking about the future. Matt Moore? cmon!
