George Hill coming to Utah

Now that we've had a day to process this it seems like a win.

We get a solid contributor, and someone to help at the 1.
We can still add a draft pick if needed. Seems like there
are a lot of options there.

So we'll bring in Hill, Exum, Burks to our core. Plus any other picks that make the team.
We were very close to making the playoffs. This should put us over the top.

Jazz got the total worse end of this..
Indiana basically upgraded Teague with Hill becauce yall were stupid enough to give the number 12 pick to a guy who averaged 12 points and 5.9 assist last year. WOW
Atlanta unloaded Teague for a late lottery pick. Only because Utah was dumb enough. I like Hill for the Jazz and think he is a solid player but gave uop way to much for him. The other 2 teams clearly made out better and it isn't even close.
Now I know it was a great trade.

It was a bad trade, period. We gave up a valuable asset for a 30 year old combo guard. We could have signed a similar player in free agency without giving up an asset. If they didn't like this group of prospects then trade the pick for future picks so you can carry the value over. Trading the pick for a type of player you can sign in free agency is basically giving the pick away for free.

What similar player was to be had in free agency.

Utah will love George Hill. Good defender, can shoot, he's one of the guys you watch and don't complain about, if you get me. Does mostly everything right. I'm not big on Teague at all, we will see what happens.

congats on your lottery pick of George Hill, LMAO a player who average what 12 and 6 last year. This move says Jazz office is fine with being a borderline playoff team for years to come. Could of gotten a player like Hill as a free agent and atleast took a gamble on a player like Thon.. Jazz I thought was one of the smartly ran teams in sports but this trade has shown me otherwise.. Jazz got worse part of this trade no matter how you slice it. A lottery pick for a 30 year old who put up 12 and 6..

So @green @Boris @pgab and @ncoloradojazz hate this trade? Interesting... hard to argue with that collection of brilliance and/or whoever some of their main accounts are.

gave up the number 12 pick for a 30 year old who averaged 12 and 6.. That's a bad trade no matter how you slice it. Utah has made some smart draft picks in the past and they just threw away a chance for a 12 and 6 guy. LMAO. You do realize this isn't going push Jazz into a top 6 western conference team right? Which means you are happy with just playing an extra 4 or 5 games every year since teams like GSW and OKC with Durant would be the Jazz first round opponent. Bad trade. Not that Hill is a bad player but gave up way to much for him no matter how muchhe fits into the team and culture.

Some people strive for chips and sonme strive to just make the playoffs. now I know which one you are.

Whos the PG of Hills caliber (especially defensively) and versatility that we could have got in FA this year? Also keep in mind we dont want him under a long term contact since we are hoping Exum will be our starter long term, so we need the financial flexibility of a 1 or 2 year contract. Thon is also projected to be a late first, so we could easily buy a pick in this draft and pick him up. This is also a weak draft. Thon is a 2nd round pick in an average draft. The 12th pick this year is equivalent to a late first most years.
