George Hill coming to Utah

Interesting bit by Zach Lowe:

Utah's George Hill might be a better player than Ibaka, and the Jazz just snagged Hill on the final year of his contract for the No. 12 pick -- and only the No. 12 pick. Ibaka is better than Markieff Morris, but he's also set to earn nearly four times more than Morris in 2018 and 2019; Washington swiped Morris from Phoenix for the No. 13 pick and two guys the Suns waived almost immediately.

The one thing that gets hammered home whenever he is in the news: a lot of people wildly underrated George Hill. He is really good.

It's no secret that I would have rather liked Teague. Teague would have been an A++ trade. Hill is an A+ trade. It is still a great trade.

This may not be of great interest, but here it goes. George Hill is holding a basketball camp here in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas this summer. We are a poor community with few opportunities. Glad to see him helping out. Reported in Brownsville Herald, June 24, 2016, my apologies for not providing a link.

I can't really see Teague as part of a Championship winning team... but I can with Hill due to his defense.

I do worry a bit whether our offense will stagnate with Hill....

Hill won't really be the primary ball handler. Depending on the composition of your team, that's actually a selling point. I think that's the case with the Jazz, as I think the point is to attack opportunistically instead of having a rigid hierarchy with rigid set plays.

you keep prattling on about it, too. Teague's former coach chose Hill instead. Maybe you should let that sink in... instead of typing on jazzfanz.

I wouldn't worry about our offense stagnating. It has to go somewhere first.

Don't look at the sample size, but George Hill posted +9.5 on/off and +25+/- numbers in the playoffs... he also kept Lowry to under 40% shooting in every single game in the playoffs(3/13, 4/13, 8/21, 4/12, 3/11, 4/14, 5/14).

Shot 56% from the field and 48% from 3.
