George Hill didn't score back to back 20pt games once last season

Ignore is easier.

THE system that the pacers ran has been awful. For years it was hill passing it to George so that George could chuck and everyone else rebounded. It worked alright when George was making 3s and Hibbert was decent.

Hill is a good underrated player. But you need a system like ours or the Spurs to maximize on his talent. Put Hayward on the Knicks and he barely averages double figures.

Sounds like you are impressed with the roster management has put together. Lots of high IQ guys willing to defend and make the correct play. Makes for a good 'system'

But what was so encouraging about this game is that Hill meshed just fine with Hayward back -- they both had great games, with some left over for Hood and JJ.

Not really IMO. The first games I watched Hill was totally willing to take a seat in a corner for a couple possessions when Johnson and/or Hood had mismatches. Didn't throw him off the slightest. Made open 3s, still defended hard and when he got the ball again he didn't need to waste possessions to find his rhythm. Total number of clear heat check attempts was ONE - that I realized at least(I'm usually good at seeing heat checks - every low game IQ American in Europe has strong beliefs in the heat check, almost religious)

The possessions Hayward getts, will be those previously highjacked by Johnson and Mack. I hope they won't give him Exum's as well, Dante should still get opportunities other than taking open shots in the regular season. I wanna see him drive, kick and finish.

I did as you asked. I'm returning my result even faster than the FBI can review 650,000 emails because every single NAOS post says this:

The most useless poster to communicate with on this site, IMO.

George Hill was killing it the year Paul George was missing. There's nothing surprising about his current level of play. It was a little surprising he couldn't be more involved in their offense last year, but when you consider that Monta Ellis without the ball in his hands is completely useless, it was to be expected that his touches would dwindle as Paul George was finding his old self again.

Yes, Paul George played well that one year George was out with the leg break. But lemme go do some research and see if it was as good as his current level of play

He had 14 >20 point games, 5 of them were back to back, one instance he had a back-to-back-to-back series of games where he scored over 20 points. Keep in mind this was all done in a truncated season where he was out with a knee injury for the first couple of months. George Hill played in 43 games in the 2014-2015 season. Could he have sustained what he did over the last two months of a season over an entire season? Who knows. Maybe with the right coaching-- which is what I'm getting at in this thread.

Really, when looking at the game log, the month of March (and perhaps April to an extent) are the only two months where he has cranked out a level of play that approaches what he's currently doing.

But even when he averaged 19.4ppg a month in March of 2015, he shot 35% from 3. In April he averaged 15.5ppg, but had some of his most consistent scoring sequences from a game-to-game basis in that month.

---

So far this season, George Hill is averaging 20/5/3, shooting 54% (WTF) from the field and 43% from three. 26.6 PER.

You would also need to explain why Hill didn't hit this level of play while playing with Paul George prior to the arrival of Monta Ellis.

Again, to me, it strikes me as the classic example of forcing players into a system as opposed to building a system around your players' strengths. George Hill is honestly on his way to become an all-star, and I'm not sure how many people in the entire world had that as a prediction at the start of the season.

NEWSFLASH: There are George Hill fans here who are not surprised by his performance thus far. At all.

It's encouraging because Hill took a backseat to a player of Hayward's offensive calibre before the Ellis era. A point you're missing.

Someone get NAOS a cookie & some rogaine for thinking that Hill should be kept long-term (albeit him never making definitive posts on the level of play he'd play at). I for one will miss the days of ppl dedicating their sig to Chris bulldog Johnson
