Hill lives in San Antonio in the off season. I think Pop would love to have him again.

Well he was at Lone Peak High School last summer doing a basketball camp. Just sayin
The timing of it just a day before the moratorium is lifted kind of makes me think that the first organization he's going to talk to is going to be San Antonio and not Utah. Maybe he gets done with this gets up early in the morning and flies to Salt Lake so that he can be here on the 1st, or maybe he just goes home and meets with Pops on the 1st.
Well yeah he just got traded to Utah so he was probably setting himself up and getting situated. He lives in SA during the off-season because his wife is from there. Yeah, that could influence his choice, but do you want to live by your wife's entire family?
If I wanted to play with Hayward and Gobert and I wanted to stay in Utah I would be here at midnight trying to figure it out with Dennis Lindsey. I would know that a lot of pieces have to come together in a week to make it happen. If I wanted to play in San Antonio, ditto.
You know we live in the 21st century and phones exist, right?

Yeah cuz this is done over the phone every year. Every year this is a circus of players flying in and out of cities and they usually start with their number one choice. At least that is what it seems like to me.
George Hill isn't anyone's #1 choice or priority. He isn't getting the red carpet treatment like Hayward/CP3. He is a guy who has to wait for the first domino to fall before he makes a move.
Pretty sure JJ was in Salt Lake working out a deal with the Jazz last offseason. It was reported to have been agreed to on the 2nd, probably means it was hashed out on the first.
This. DL has preached patience the whole time up until last offseason. I trust he has a plan in place that is not maxing out pointless players to "win now if we lose Hayward. If we lose Hayward it'll be internal growth and possibly a trade for a young guy. I'm not worried. If I'm DL, I don't do a thing with Hill until we know what's happening with Hayward. If Hayward stays, keep Hill if it makes financial sense. If Hayward leaves, bye bye Hill.
