I'd have to say it certainly appears that way... and I have no dog in this fight.

Question: If Utah and BYU combined all their players into one team, would it be a good one?

Somebody else might be able to answer this question better, but i don't think it's a stretch to say that the only two players from byu that would start if you combined both teams are Van Noy and Hoffman. The talent gap is huge.

Astonishing, if true.

OT: UK has a new coach and is currently sitting at the #1 recruiting class in the nation. Long way to go and they won't end there.. but they have more highly recruits than the previous 7 years combined. Give it a few years and they may be 2nd worst in the SEC.

These things.

byu's biggest goal every year is to beat Utah.

Utah's biggest goal every year is to win the Pac 12 and go to the Rose Bowl, and hopefully the National Championship Game. Every Pac 12 game is more important than the byu game for Utah.

We are in two very different places as programs.

I absolutely agree. Utah's main focus needs to be becoming consistently competitive in the Pac-12.

I might be wrong, but I'd be interested in an honest discussion about it. (no Conan, no thriller)

I doubt that statement, but I have not gandered at either roster that much. BYU has produced their fare share of pros in the past, and I doubt they have taken that dramatic of step down.

Not sure. What I DO know is that if you combined the 2nd-stringers of both teams they'd still be better than UK

someone rep dal. i already did today and yesterday and the day before so it won't let me. but this is funny as ****.

Whoops... this was the statement I meant to quote with my last post.

u's o-line and lbs last year were atrocious. u definitely would have the most starters, but i would guess van noy, s. hadley would start on a combined team, and probably houston reynolds (if he is healthy) and our new freshman kearsley would man the line. and tbh, travis wilson and jamaal williams backfield is the best combination of all of them. although i was really unimpressed with wilson, i think he has star potential, at least, he has all the tools.

Why? He only stated the obvious.

Colin Cowherd something funny one day, though. He was talking about how much loves watching college football.. was giving examples of all the great matchups.. he went on to say he would go watch on Monday nights, Wednesday mornings.. wouldn't ever miss a game.. he then said, "Unless it's Kentucky.. if they were playing in my own back yard I'd close the blinds." Now THAT's funny.

admittedly i was a big jared lorenzen fan. but i just find it strange that there is an sec school that cares so little about football.

ALSO!! jordan johnson is good enough to play for the u. byu has historically played coverage with this mindset: don't let anyone behind you. because of that, cb's are 10 yards off the line EVERY DAMN PLAY. legitimately. even on 3rd-1. we have had to in the past because our cbs get by on instinct alone, without a shred of athletic ability. johnson has both, yet still stuck in the maligned schemes.

That sophomore RB from BYU might also start. Maybe an O-lineman. The competition for kicker would be a comedy.

I don't think doesn't care is accurate at all. The fanbase fills the stadium, travels incredibly well.. and all that with no winning. Problem is the fb budget is tiny compared to other SEC schools, so from that perspective, I agree. With all the new hype.. the team is getting more support and commitments to increased budgets. It's just very hard to get better when you're recruiting against and playing Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Arkansas, Auburn, South Carolina.....
