Get to see if Coach Snyder can coach offense now....

Coach Snyder was hired because he was billed a PNR expert. He was going to teach the young Jazz team some offense. That didn't turn out so well.Luckily Gobert and Exum fell in his lap .He didn't teach Gobert's length or Exum's speed ,but he was quick enough to change the Jazz's focus to defense. The Jazz had their best run in wins and losses after inserting Gobert and Exum in the starting lineup.
Sticking Withey in the lineup isn't going to replicate what Gobert brings to the Jazz defense.I think it will be a poor imitation and just lead to losses.
Its time to go back to emphasize the offense again.Time to open the offense up ,start running and play all 4 (Favors,Hayward,Hood,Burks) 32 minutes plus a game.Favors does prefer the PF position ,but the door is wide open for Favors now ,no Kanter or Gobert to share the paint with. For Hayward ,he gets to play the point forward spot .Is it what Favors and Hayward want ,who cares ....it's only for maybe 6 weeks while Gobert has plenty of time to heal.
The Jazz aren't crippled without Gobert with 4 offensive players with the skillz of their best 4 players. For the bench ,Burke,Booker and Trey Lyles ,faster will probably be better for their game.
I want to see the Jazz scoring in the 100's not in the 90's while Gobert heals .Let Coach Snyder dust off his offensive playbook again and play smallball ,since that might be the Jazz's best chance to keep winning.

So you think the team showed up to practice today and Snyder started off by saying "Forget everything we've been working on. Here are our new plays now that Gobert is going to be gone for up to six weeks. Time to shift gears team! We're gonna score 120pts a ball game... Until Gobert gets back, of course. Then we'll try to relearn the current system."

Sounds like a solid plan. We should probably start judging Snyder on that criteria starting with tonight's game.

This would be a great time to open up the offense with Favors at the 5. Time to utilize that stretch-4 Lindsey worked so hard to find over the past two years. Oh wait...
Lindsey needs to get off his *** and sign decent back up players. EVERY team has injuries. But Utah is stuck with stiffs at PG and at the backup bigs.

No Dude ,were you a Utah fan last year........everyone here knows Snyder was supposedly a PNR genius and was going to instill a uptempo ball moving offense which he did do the 1st half of the season last year. And guess what....he has the same 4 players here that he had last year still playing in Utah. You bring back the same plays he taught at the beginning of last year when he was wanting a uptempo offense and pass the ball like the San Antonio Spurs did when they whipped Miami in the Finals. These guys are a year older and have tasted some Wins ,they might be ready to listen more to what Snyder tryed to teach them when he was first hired to Coach the Jazz.

I only became a Jazz fan last week, so I've been out of the loop.

One thing is for sure. This injury will force the Jazz to experiment with different lineups. I think that will only make us tougher. I see a lot of small ball in the near future.

First, you did not participate in Quin's job interview, so you don't get to tell the rest of us why he was hired. Second, I reject your premise that Quin has been neglecting offense from the team's game plan.

Pretty neat that Utah's offensive efficiency went from dead last pre-Quin to above league average even with Quin neglecting it.

I believe in Snyder. I look forward to seeing what adjustments he makes without Gobert. It sucks Rudy isn't playing but I think Favors at center and Booker at PF could be interesting.

I'm not sure the Jazz without Gobert are still a playoff team in the west. Gobert's presence just changes the game on both ends.

Pretty neat that our assists dropped to nearly dead last. I miss Jazz basketball.

I don't know if we are, either. To have a chance Burke and Booker would need to step up. I think Burks is going to continue his awesomeness and if Hood can play better we would probably be in (if everything listed previously happens).

We need some PG-depth - hoping we can draft Dunn for next season and we can upgrade the backup SF position as well.

Jazz desperately need consistent play from the PG position. Trey was great in the first half Thursday and terrible in the second. Neto was awful except for the 4-pt play.

This is the first season in nearly 15 years that I won't care if I see every game. It is just boring to watch.

Although Trey Burke is hurting the team less this year, since his usage is down and he's simply trying to do less, his ceiling as a player is still very low. The Jazz don't really have a starting-caliber PG on the roster.

Now with Gobert out, the Jazz no longer have a starting-caliber PF (if Favors slides to the 5) or starting-caliber center (if we play Withey at the 5).
