So did the go and catch die with Igor? I don’t know if we have done it much but it is much less frequent... heard Duncan talking about how it’s helping Oubre in Phoenix... are teams taking it away? Am I completely missing it during the game?

You're referring to when the big switches on the player, then the player passes it back out to receive the pass again and attack?

I think the Jazz changed the way they attack switching defenses (that was suppose to be the specialty of the Greek coach they hired), and from what I've heard, the Jazz have improved. If they've gone away from that strategy, it's probably because they don't have the isolation players to do it.

Ya I miss the go and catch (receiving the pass on the run toward the basket with a head of steam).
The blender isn't blending much these days.

Mostly just Mitchell iso, pick and rolls, and three balls.

Yeah... I guess it was primarily with switches iirc. Just seems like we've written it out of the offense. I really liked it. DM in particular should be able to benefit from it.

It was only with switches.

Less teams switching maybe? NBA offense and defense is so nuanced... I watch a lot but unless you friggin study it its tough to feel confident. I ain't gonna pretend to be an expert. Was curious if others had thoughts here.

I think they just changed what they do vs switches. I couldn't tell you what it is, but I've heard people like Locke and Duncan say Utah has gotten better at attacking switching defenses this year.

They've played Houston a ton better... Can't think of any obvious switch teams... GS I guess. The drop the big teams seem to give us the most trouble and I think that is just about shot making (we aren't good at it most of the time).

Teams who drop the bigs can still switch 1-4.
