Honestly, even when I disregard the fact that Gingrich has had two failed marriages or whatever, there is just something about him that I don't trust. You look at past great presidents, and then you compare your guys's batch of nominees, Paul seems like the only trustworthy one out of the bunch. And its funny, because Im wayyy on the left wing in terms of political orientation, yet I would definitely vote for Paul given the opportunity. He just seems like the candidate I would trust the most.

I agree that Paul is a candidate I can trust. I don't agree with some things he says but I feel like he is shooting straight with me. Possibly the only one I feel that way about in all of politics. The rest would sell me their mother if they thought it would help them.

Obama won 2008 based on emotion. Hope, Change! emotion He had people charged up.

Gingrich will win the 2012 GOP nomination based on emotion. Anger at the media and left, aggression. I wont take it anymore! emotion.

I don't think most Americans are angry with the media or with the left.

I think they're angry at politicians in general.

You are right in that they are angry at politicians in general. However this is the GOP primary. Generally the primaries run to the hard right and hard left. I think the hard right is angry at the "left stream" media.

Regardless, if Gingrich becomes the figurehead of that anger he has a real chance to win this.

I misread. I thought you meant the general election.

I think Gingrich's rant against the "liberal media" scored him points with some people.

However, I still think Romney will end up being their ticket when everything is said and done. He's the one that gives them the best chance at knocking off Obama. However, if Newt wins, I think it will be attributed to Mitt's religion more than anything. Mormons are looked at weird by most people. They're looked not only as weird, but non-Christian by most from the right. At the very best, his religion is unknown.

At least with Newt, GOP folks know his religion (even if Newt doesn't live it).

Actually, I think Obama will win in 2012, based on the Lichtman keys.

They're looked not only as weird, but non-Christian by most from the right.

I don't think Mormons are any weirder than other Christians, if that helps.

The open marriage is a dumb story. It doesn't really matter except to maybe some moral majority conservatives who were going to vote for Santorum anyway. Even if true it has basically no bearing on him as a presidential candidate.

Gingrich is an idiot. Wasn't he they guy running around ripping on Clinton a few years back and Clinton's infidelity? And he gets mad when people to the same thing to him? Newt and the tea party are embarrassing to America.
