Go Get Kyle Lowry

It looks like Lowry is owed 30M this year and then is a free agent. Could we take on that whole amount? That would be a pretty sizeable trade exception that Miami could go use to get someone they are targeting.

What do you think would be fair value that Miami could give us for taking on his contract?

The great thing is it's expiring so doesn't mess anything up for next year.

From what I saw, Miami isnt really interested in paying to get off Lowry as of right now.

No thanks on Lowry. I thought Jason Terry did a pretty awesome job mentoring our guards last year and I'm confident he will do it with George as well.

I’m not saying he’s gonna turn into LeBron, I’m just saying give him the ball and let him live & learn, rather than let him sit on the bench behind a Kyle Lowry.
Well that's fine. Just weird to invoke lebron. Could have used trey burke as an example. Lots of rookies get minutes early on.+
Trey burke started 68 games as a rookie and averaged 32.3 minutes per game. So you hope that Keyonte takes the trey burke path for his rookie year lol.

I admit, it doesn't have the same ring to it as "take the lebron james path"

Brother Keyonte didnt even play PG in college. He's going to need time. He should get minutes for sure, but he would tank the team if we let him loose at PG from Day 1.

I mean we were running THT out there as a point guard. I'm not saying start him day 1, but if we don't bring back Clarkson (which it is looking like,) there will be minutes to be had.

There's going to be minutes everywhere for sure. Utah has a pretty fluid roster, almost no one other than Walker is positionally locked to one spot.

The Jazz still have no natural 3's so you are going to see plenty of 3 big lineups or 3 guard lineups. I'm sure Brice/Keyonte will probably be given some rookie treatment early on. Maybe Hendricks too. If Hardy uses the same style he used last year he's not just going to be giving out free minutes because you're a first rounder, but he will give out spot minutes here and there.

Not sure about Lowry
Jazz got rid of 37 yr old Conley making 20 mil
Now they bring in 37 yr old Lowry making 30 mil
Seems Jazz could get a better fit for less money

and what would be the problem with "tanking the team" it's what they should have done last season and they screwed it up. let's get it right this year and ensure our top 10 pick.
Eh, I'd rather just give the pick this year. It isn't like it goes away. If injuries bring us down, the protections are nice though.

Assuming no mid-summer drama between Luka and the Mavs, I personally think they're going to go after one of: Bruce Brown, Caris LeVert or Austin Reaves. Makes the most sense from a talent and timeline perspective.

Hardy seems to be a strange point guard whisperer so I'm not even remotely worried about that position. Between Sexton, THT and Dunn we are about as deep at point guard as we have been in a long time.
