Go GET Teague

Reports are the Hawks are shopping Horford around too, which IMO lessens the legitimacy of these rumors. They're fishing for suckers, and the Jazz aren't going to bite.

I think it signals that they are willing to blow this team up. I wouldn't want to pay Horford the max for his next deal. If they dealt Teague I felt like it really lessened their chances to do something this year... If they move Horford they are waiving the towel imo. I wonder if Boston gets desperate and throws a non-BKN pick or two to get him in.

I feel bad for ATL. They almost caught lightning in a bottle, but they were just a couple of pieces shy. They had a bad offseason, and are definitely backsliding.

You are certifiably insane if you think Neto is the answer at point guard. I like him as a backup, but name one decent team in the league with a worse starting PG situation than us.

Here we have a chance to get an above average player at our worst position for pennies in the dollar. This is what we've been waiting for and you guys have such a hard on for our own players that you are blinded. So let me drop some hard truth on ya: Exum was a timid as **** player BEFORE he tore his ACL why would that change now? Hey, maybe he comes back and becomes the player we all want him to be. But to put all you eggs in that basket? Foolish.

And you know what wouldn't help? Having him be a 35 minutes a night guy next year. You have a chance to get a young guy coming off injury to play 20 minutes a game next year behind a very good starter he can learn from, and not have the pressure on him to be the franchise savior.
Then after you get your five seed, and conclude a very successful season. You either thank Teague for the great season and give the keys to Exum. OR you know that Exum might not have what it takes, but lucky for you, we have first dibs on resigning Teague.

Now please tell me why you would be opposed to this. I ****ing love Burks, you all know I do. And I'd only include him in the deal as a last resort. But if I had to? Hell yes I would. Giving up a bench player for the above scenario? Definitely worth it. I'd start out by offering a collection of draft picks (which you guys put WAY to much value on) and Burke, and hope they become desperate.

Pennies on the dollar at the position of greatest need. The Jazz better get it done.

I need to see Neto attack more like he did last night, but I agree with the general sentiment here. If Teague is really available and at a somewhat discount I wouldn't overreact to one game.

Also, Teague may have an injury or he may be saying stuff because people are asking him about having reduced playing time and it is his excuse. His ankle looked fine last night.

I would still rather keep Alec than the GSW or OKC picks. I think he is much more valuable either in a trade or to the team than those picks.

I feel kind of bad... the fans there suck. They've had playoff teams down there forever now and still have ****ty attendance. I feel more bad for the Millman. He is killing it and this is where they will top out.

Good posts

DL is probably offering Burke and a 2nd at this point. Actually that might be fair. They're getting a decent PG who is ok with playing backup - and one they'll control as a RFA. They're trading away a disgruntled employee. BTP is right. Others may make a silly trade. Jazz shouldn't overpay.

Spot on. Hawks are desperate to move him but everyone knows it. The only way they get value is if 2 teams are interested and start bidding war.

The Burks + multiple firsts is absolutely certifiably crazy. Thank God Lindsey has a brain and ignores some of his fans.

Trading Burks/Burks (plus picks?) for Teague may fill one hole and create another bigger hole. Who scores off the bench? Teague will be traded for little value barring a stupid or desperate bidder. I'm in for Burke+2nd round. Burks + nothing or anything would be a steal for Atlanta and go down as an all-time terrible trade in Jazz history. And I'm no Burks homer and question his fit with Jazz system, I just think he has a lot more value than that.

Burks has more value than Teague in the minds of exactly one fanbase out of 30, and is a laughable notion in the other 29.

All time terrible deal? Come the **** on.

I love Burks and hope we don't lose him. But that was a bad post.

Go listen to Salt City Hoops where they interviewed the hawks guy. When Larsen threw out Burks for Teague the Hawks guy couldn't say yes fast enough... I know he is just a truehoop reporter, but the contract stuff factors in and adds a lot more value to Burks.

If the Hawks really want to get rid of Teague, then Burks could be the best player they could get. He is on a reasonable contract and under contract for 3 more years. He also adds something they really dont have, which is a wing who can draw fouls and get to the FT line. I don't know if they would say if we offered, but what else are they getting from others?

I'm not saying the Hawks wouldn't do it. But we have been put in a favorable position. I'm hoping the Hawks are desperate enough to take Burke and a couple picks. My point is that in no universe is Burks better than Teague AND Teague fills a much better need on our team. But you are correct that Burks may be a best case scenario for the Hawks who have made it clear that Teague is gone.

But if we get in a bidding war and it comes done to Burks or no deal? Do it.
