Go GET Teague

I didn't mention that at all... You are reading into things I never said. It's his worst stretch of the season and he has had some awful defensive plays that show either lack of effort or just not being there mentally. He was replaced last night by Erick Greene for a moment and we've been throwing ingles out there at the point. I didn't see the huddle... I watch all games on dvr so I don't see half that stuff.

I must be thinking of someone else who brought up the huddle thing in the game thread, was it not you?

The likelihood of all 4 being max-worthy is very low. I recall conversations a few year back about "we have to pay Burke, Burks, Hayward maxes down the road." That narrative has changed a bit.

And if we pay them the max and their market value is the max, then others will also covet them we pay them the max and have a trade chip. This is a good problem to have.

So the current plan is 'hope the players aren't good enough to deserve max'?

Gobert is max, no doubt about it, Same with Favors and Hayward unless something dramatic happens. That's 75% of the cap right there. Hood is improving every day. And I sure as hell hope that Exum is worth a big contract when the time comes.

I agree with the notion that we will cross that bridge when we come to it. But It'd be smart to have a contingency plan in place. Hopefully Miller is willing to pay the big bucks in order to have a chance to compete for a championship.

If we insist on staying under the cap, there is no way the team looks the same in a few years. I don't see how anyone could argue otherwise.

*Not calling you out. This is something I think about a lot, and I just happen to be replying to your post.

That's what really worries me. And why I get frustrated with the idea of "next year." This team is going to be forced to **** or get off the pot. If they show the potential to be great then maybe the team is willing to go into luxury tax for a few years, but if they underperform my guess is that we'll start losing pieces faster than we can add and develop new ones.

Not me. I am basing this off what I perceive as a lack of effort mentally and physically. He's had a short leash because of some mistakes in the last few games.

The Detroit game in particular two mistakes stick out... the lackadaisical and 1 he gave reggie jackson and fouling the wrong guy (I think if was Jackson) when we were doing hack a drummond.

He isn't looking to push the ball and just generally seems "not there". Maybe it's because his shot is sideways at the moment, but we know the guy's dedication has waned here and there. He talked about it before the season a bit.

I don't believe this at all... this is by far his worst 5 game stretch this season. He had been bouncing back. I have been a trey supporter (kind of). I like what he can bring even if his shot is broke some nights.

It is how he has played for the better part of 3 years. I don't believe that 20 games out of nearly 200 represents him better than the other 180 games. Plus he only looked decent when most of our real talent was out. Lots of dudes look good on bad teams. I won't buy into that 10%. Trade him now

PSA:

Whenever you are talking about whether or not you want Teague, it should be a requirement to say what offer you are saying no to.

If you say "I don't want to trade for Teague." I assume you mean you don't want him in any trade. And not wanting to get Teague for Burke and a pick or two should be ban worthy.

If you say 'I don't want Teague at the cost of Burks' that is much more defensible, and reasonable. Please qualify your statements. It's important to know exactly what we are actually talking about here.

Thank you for your time.
Thsnks for the guidance. I want Teague and would trade a yogurt tube to get him. Is that bettet?

I just want to say that there is a huge difference between Burke, Burks, and hayward from a Couple years ago vs Hayward, Gobert and favors right now

My point exactly. And there will be a lot of difference between our view of hayward favors and gobert now versus in three years.

I think we kinda agree. Although i tend to always have doubts. Was there any doubt that derrick rose was max worthy? Deron Williams?

I call BS. I NEVER remember conversations about Burke and Burks being max players. I'd like to see just one post that did.

Interesting twist Tibors been recalled from DL, all our guys are healthy maybe a trade being worked.. (saw it in hoopshype)
I only do this for Burke and Booker / a pick. Would prefer we kept Burks.

They recalled him about two days ago. Now they just sent him back to the D league again.

Weird.

Yep. Which I why I said comparing trey hayward and alec from years ago vs Gobert, favors, and hayward now is apples to oranges
