Gobert goes to Rio - OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED

I hope he stays and works on his game with the Jazz coaches and trainers. If he decides to go, I hope he effing blows up in Brazil - dominating on both ends of the court. Give me 20 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks per game dominant. France can get the silver and I'd love to see him steal Boogie's lunch money and eat his lunch while he's at it.

I wish he wouldn't go. Last year his body wore down. You could tell he was exhausted out there towards the end of the year. I would rather him stay here, work out with the team and prepare his body for a Playoff run. But I can't blame him for wanting to play for his country.

Of course this is the reason he did not participate in the OQT. Olympics itself are a max of 8 games. Now I would imagine if he were going to play he will need to join the NT soon and then they will also have a few preparation games. Have not seen this schedule yet.

Let me put it this way - I'd rather him stay but I'm not going get my panties in a bunch if he goes. The kid is raw offensively. He'll learn more there than he would working out here in my personal opinion.

With a coach that refused to use him on offense? I don't remember a single play run for Rudy last tournament.

It was reverse psychology or something. Opposite day.

Meh.

This rio Olympics looks like it could be one royal disaster. Police and public trans are threatening strikes, Zika is running rampant, and the water is filled with garbage and poo.

I'd stay home and get ready for the NBA season too. And then cash in on a sweet pay raise in the next summer or two. Even Average players are scoring contracts that were normally reserved for max players just a few years ago.

Haha. If i were informed only by some bad news, I would think that way. By the way: All the latest Olympics people said that would be a disaster, problems were always in highlights during the news.

They said the same thing about the World Cup. And World Cup 2014 was the best ever. Rio will be the safest city during the games. Zika I've talked about. Water. Is a problem at bay, but they said it would not be for the competitors. I prefer to wait.

I believe it will be fantastic. And I'll be there.

I don't have a source in english, but trust me, the topic has been discussed A LOT on brazilian news.

The mosquitoes procreate during the summer and have a low lifetime spam, that's why the season matters.

The mosquito that has the Zika Virus is the same of Dengue that we deal with for years now and Dengue cases go down every winter.

Is it impossible to get Zika during the winter in Rio? No, it can happen.

Is it probable? Probably not.

Will it happen to someone? Probably yes and I'm sure someone will quote this post with a link to the story.
