Going on a Jazz road trip

Winter is imo the worst time to visit salt lake, it's kinda depressing here in the winter, tbh. The city becomes far less active, many of the best nearby hiking trails are simply not accessible, and it's ****ing cold. Salt lake is less of a city than it is a place close to the outdoors. If you want to go skiing check out Alta as it is beautiful up there, but be warned they don't allow snowboarding(other than Deer Valley the rest do).

Try Sapa, the Red Iguana, and Red Rock (restaurants)

Seriously though (if you don't have family here) I would recommend you spend more time in another city and less here. Come back and see Utah when it is warm.

Southerners, for the most part, tend to be anti-intellectual too, which is why you get all these reactionary politicians elected there. They still are influenced by their antebellum roots, which is not a good thing. But the Aussie shouldn't have any problem with that.

I am born and raised in Australia and have followed the Jazz since game 6 vs the bulls (not exactly the best game to start following the Jazz on). That was the first game I was ever able to watch on TV here and was still pretty young. I've stuck with the team through thick and thin and even flew over for 3 Jazz game in SLC about 4 years ago.

I am now coming back and have decided to do a big trip. I am starting in Miami when we play the Heat on 16 Dec. I'm going on the road to Orlando, Atlanta and Charlotte before flying to Memphis and then on to SLC for the game vs Lakers, Bobcats and Bucks. I'm then going to fly to LA to see the game vs the Lakers on 03 Jan before flying home to Sydney. This will have me in SLC from 24 Dec 13 - 03 Jan 14.

I'm keen to see as much as I can in each city I visit and do as much as possible. Has anyone got any ideas of what is worth doing in any of these cities (I'm definitely going to Graceland in Memphis)?

I'm really excited about the trip and can't wait to get to the States!!

I remember your username (I guess from the old board) and thought you did a trip like this before, or did you just have it planned and not do it?

Born and bred in the east, educated in the Midwest, visited the NW, and having lived in the South -- that's my opinion. To say that the politicians in the South are usually far more reactionary than the rest of the country is not opinion, but fact. To say that the South is historically more racist than other parts of the country is not opinion, but fact.

So could you define "rad" for me?

No ****. It's really, really, getting out of hand. We should be spending as much as possible on mass transportation, consider moving the refineries, and close all coal fired plants along the wasatch front. This **** really isn't fair to those that have asthma and it sucks for the rest of us too.
