Golden State has interest in AK

Yes, I'm sure Deron would welcome him with open arms to the Nets. Please, please have Prokhorov sign him to play in Brooklyn. I'd give anything to see Deron's face if that move were announced.

Given the fact that their team is only 6 deep with a bunch of scrubs after that, I don't think he would mind.

Golden State floats all kinds of names and rumours to the local media as a way of keeping the team name in the paper (or internet chatter). They suck, the fans are ticked off and so they make up trades, or FA signings that never happen. Its kind of sad.

Yeah, I think they've pretty much gotten over that. Deron knows the position NJ is in right now, in that they are very limited in improving. This is why I have no doubt AK will play for the Nets, if he comes back to the NBA. He'll take a contract that might be a little less than what another NBA team might offer, but then Prokorov will make up the difference 10 fold over in Russia. There's really nothing the NBA can do about it.

Kind of like Larry H. setting up auto dealerships for Karl and John?
AK can receive the proceeds from all the concrete shoes the Russian mafia uses.

Yeah, I've never really understood exactly how they were able to do that without it being considered an under-the-table deal. Thoughts?
They can invest in anything they want. Obviously the dealerships were never part of the Miller network and Larry H probably never set foot in any of them. But...I wouldn't be surprised if a few knowledgeable operations and sales managers "quit" a Miller dealership to take on a similar role in the Stockton & Malone ones.

Yeah, I guess I always just assumed that Larry set them up. Considering the circumstances, it seems like something that the league had to have taken a good, hard look at. Makes you wonder just how many under-the-table deals there are out there that teams have gotten away with.
