Gordon Hayward Retires

What makes me feel better about everything that went down back in 2017 is that human brain is a wonderful, wonderful thing.

You can bet your house that Gordon Hayward's brain will ask him many, many times "What if I never left Utah?" And the only answer possible, of course, is "You never break your leg."

And that makes me smile.

Given that his injury was a freak occurrence, it is a reasonable assumption to make.

That being said, his being here would have slowed DM's development, to say the least.
I have wondered this but DM had an alpha mentality something GH never had. He would have eventually taken leadership away.

So many negative things said about Hayward. But why? What is exactly that he did wrong? He did not choose to be in Utah - 90% of players would not either - but was drafted by the Jazz. He played for the Jazz for two contracts. When he had the opportunity to play for the team in a location he liked more (and with the coach he liked more) he left. Is it what everybody else would do in his place? Have you never changed the jobs to be in a place/company you liked more? If you friend told you that he is changing jobs because he the career prospects are better there would you judge him and tell him to stick at his old company "because they gave you a chance 7 years ago with your first job"?

Also, yeah, he was quiet about moving to other company but who is not? Who is exactly running his mouth at work telling everybody that he is going to leave in a few months?

I really do not understand the amount of hate directed at Gordon. He did the same thing that most of us have also done and we never felt that we did anything wrong.

You da man.

- Karma is not real, and if it were just think on the traitor being a friggin' millionaire anyway
- I don't let go when someone intentionally damage anything or anyone I like, and I feel zero need to learn to
- I'm not a good dude probably, but I can live with it so I don't wish him well

"Gordon Hayward's wife Robyn is known to speak out, especially when he comes to matters concerning her husband. She recently took aim at Sam Presti, after the Oklahoma City Thunder general manger shouldered the blame for signing off on the trade for Hayward.

"I missed on that," Presti said, via ESPN. "That’s on me. But I’m learning, I’m trying to learn this team, I’m trying to learn the pace of the team a little bit. And trying to be a great observer of the team as it’s going through its paces, knowing that it’s really going to change on its own in and of itself."

Tre Mann, Vasilije Micic, David Bertans and future draft picks were sent to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Hayward in February. Hayward averaged 14.5 points per game over his 25 appearances with the Hornets.

Robyn fired back at Presti by responding to a social media post that highlighted Presti's comments. "Why trade for someone and not play them? … missed it by not integrating him," she wrote.

Hayward's production declined when he arrived in Oklahoma City, with the one-time NBA All-Star averaging just 5.3 points per game. Hayward's playing time also dipped considerably as he was on the basketball court for an average of 17.2 minutes in his 26-game stint with the Thunder.

Hayward's playing time was also limited in the playoffs, where he only managed three shot attempts.

Gordon previously expressed his frustration with his brief stint with Oklahoma City.

"I feel as a player, I have a lot to offer," Gordon said, according to ESPN. "Just wasn’t really given much of an opportunity to do that. I thought I would be given that opportunity."

During the 2022-23 season, Hayward suffered a shoulder fracture. Before a November 2022 game against the Timberwolves, the Hornets announced that he would miss the contest due to a shoulder contusion.

However, Robyn took issue with how the Hornets described the injury.

A shoulder contusion is less severe than a shoulder fracture, and Robyn took to social media to share her displeasure with the discrepancy.

"He actually has a fractured scapula … that they had him play with last game … that’s why he couldn’t move his arm up in the last game," she wrote on Instagram.

She later added, "I’m gonna stop here and not get into prior things," before continuing on a subsequent Instagram story.

She then concluded, "I’m over them not protecting players. Just was talking with a young player’s mom, and she was saying the same thing…"

Is that a real article or did you write that?

I like seeing people learn that grass is not greener on the other side in harsh ways. I like seeing hubris(you may call it ambition) punished like it's a Greek tragedy. I think schadenfreude feels almost as good as an orgasm. Sue me.

I still just hate to think how much different we would have been with a big 3 of Mitchell, Gobert, and Hayward. Damnit, such a huge lost opportunity. Oh well, Robi...uh his mo....errr, GORDON got what he wanted, a 9-figure retirement. In the end that is way more important than a ring realistically.

Still i'd smash his mothers backdoor in...

I really hope that the Jazz players do not frequent this site. Because if I were them and thought that it represents the Utah fanbase I would rapidly nope out of SLC too. You guys come across as being completely psychotic.
He knows exactly how the fans would feel and went and did it anyway.

What would you call that?
