Gordon Hayward's blog: Outlook at the Break

Stifle Tower

Punch Bowl Re-Filler
Not sure if this was posted, but it's a great article by Hayward. What I liked the most?

'Having continuity is extremely important. If you look at those teams at the top, most of them have been together for a while. They have guys with a lot of experience. We’re still a pretty young team, and experience means a lot in the NBA.

We’re building something here. I’m excited to see where it goes."

Sounds like he's invested, realizes it takes awhile to build chemistry, and has a man-crush on Rudy, just like all of us.

I like how he says a couple former teammates in Millsap and DMC, but not Korver on the Hawks LOL

Or am I being an idiot because he actually never actually overlapped with korver on utah... i have no idea

You are being an idiot :D, they never played together

Maybe because he posts intelligent insights once every month or so, instead of 5,000 posts trumpeting Julius Randle as a small forward every day?

Sorry Nickkkky. You tee'd it up perfectly for me. Too easy.

Haha.. everyday??? When was the last time I talked about Randle???

Guess I'm getting all tingly because the way negotiations went, with the opt-out clause and not a whole lot of love after the contract was signed (at least IMO), just seemed like Gordon wasn't really invested in the team. This blog, to me, is one of the first real indications I've seen where Gordon talks about being part of the Jazz' future. Have to credit Quin for changing the atmosphere. Even Enes' agent said they're happy with the coaching this season.

And I think Rudy's presence is HUGE (pun intended). Everyone KNOWS he's a player to build around defensively. WE were all worried about franchise players. I think we have two potential ones in Gordon and Rudy. Hayward has certainly stepped up this season. He made a quantum leap forward adding physicality and that step back shot. It's clearly his team on offense...and it will be Rudy's on the other end.
