What's new

Great move by KOC, whats next?

Ya we need CJ, would defenitely prefer to give them the Memphis pick over CJ. I think he's just sleeping though.

i REALLY like his versatility as player, he can drive, finish, shoot (even though stricky), underrated passer, has potential on defense. he became one of my fav player during the playoffs last season... if the jazz traded him ill be devastated and the jazz made a bad move to give up THAT much

Jazz should trade AK to the Nets or the Knicks for a trade exception.

Than Jazz should Match Matthews Contract.

Resign Fesenko

Sign Matt Barnes

Sign Earl Watson (Don't really care which free agent we sign)

D-Will - Watson - Price
Matthews - Hayward
Miles - Barnes
Millsap - Koufos - Evans
Jefferson - Okur - Fesenko

Our team becomes a real contender with Al Harrington. That is a fact. I hope we split the MLE between him and Shannon Brown, and then use Brewer's TPE to bring him back.

If AJ really can be a legit center, then trading all the miscelaneous pocket change assets for him is WAAAAAAY worth it.

What opportunity cost? the only reason he was available for a draft choice is because he had an injury a year ago and last season was not as great. But that's the thing though: buy low.

Buy low? Jefferson will make 13 million this year, and then 14 and 15 in the next two years. Add that to the multiple assets we'll have to give up to get him, and it sounds like hell and gone from buying low.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad Utah is looking to roll the dice, but let's not kid ourselves about this being a no brainer. As usual, Kenwood hits the nail on the head. Good stuff.

i got on facebook just barely to post about the al jefferson trade.. then i saw CJ's status as "gone...."
idk if its because he is traded or because he wants to sleep... we need CJ!!!! taking al jefferson for booz and miles is NOT WORTH it. CJ was very important to us in the playoffs and when i think he is finally showing what he can do... he BETTER not be involved in this trade..

I'd be shocked if Miles is moved. A former starter w/playoff experience who only makes $3.7 million (plus a team option next year). His age and contract make him too valuable a player to trade with our payroll increasing this dramatically. Then we'd essentially have 2 wing slots to fill and you won't find a better replacement for Miles for that price. Can' see it happening.

Regarding the Matthwes signing... The crux is what you really need at that position.

How many 20/10 guys can you have on the team? DWill, AJ, Millsap (BTW i don't think Milsap is 20/10 with another star post in town...) The issue that makes Wes attractive to consider is if he is the right Role player. I think his Defense is great. His intensity is great, he's a closer type of guy. I do think he's Raja Bell and will be a good -maybe great role player. I was all over the 5/25 rumor, but 5/35 is difficult. I just remember in the playoffs he was one of the leaders on the team. The thing about wes is that he's exactly opposite of Korver - jack of all trades master of none (Korver had shooting only) I think Shannon Brown is same though. I really didn't like it when he came into the game as a Laker... He appears to be a suitable replacement. Can he provide the same energy and defense that Wes does? Is he a locker room gem, with some leadership/stability attributes? (and still hit threes adn throw down some dunks - the part of his game i do remember well.)

I like signing Brown as a backup PG, but I dont like him as a SG.
Ironically, I like signing Brown as a SG but not as a backup PG. To me we need an actual PG to backup Deron, Shannon played SG in college and never really ran an offense. Even when he was backing up Fisher in 08-09, he just had to dribble the ball past halfcourt and pass the ball to the wing to get the Lakers into the triangle.
