Great NBA article from Bill Simmons

Liked this bit:
Quick story: A couple of weeks ago, Westbrook got a big steal in the final minute of a Wiz game, flew to the basket for the game-clinching layup and got chased down by Wall — who was running a 3.2 40-yard dash at the time — for what might have been the most exciting moment in Freakocious Guard history. I actually jumped up like there was an earthquake or something. It ended up being a draw — Wall blocked the shot but fouled Westbrook, sent him sprawling and briefly caused Earth to start rotating backward. You could have easily inserted Bledsoe into either of those spots and it would have been 98 percent as exciting. They should just turn All-Star Saturday into an indoor decathlon featuring those three guys, Anthony Davis and the Greek Freak.
Do I need to say it?

Do I need to say it?
Say what? (I guess you do need to say it)

Is it something about how 3 of the 5 guys are ex kentuckians?

Oh wow..hadn't even noticed that.

Was going to say it's so weird you have EXACTLY 48500 rep points.
I Should have known. So obvious

Simmons is the best in the biz, can't wait for part two.

45. Derrick Favors
Somehow he’s only 23 even though he has been in the league for 12 and a half years. I don’t get it, either. His 2015 numbers: 30.5 mpg, 15.9 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 1.5 bpg, 55% FG, 22.8 PER … and he’s a decent rim protector, too (47.7% opp. FG%). I like the Favors–Rudy Gobert combo. There’s something here. Hold on, lemme make sure we don’t have to adjust the “Billy King’s Top Five Worst Nets Trades Ever” rankings
LMAO So true, seriously can't beleive he's only 23.

Gobert should be number 1. The NBA logo will change to his appearance 30 years from now. God specifically made Rudy Gobert to be the best BBall player ever.

Truth.

Very good read if you are a fan of the nba. Man the nba is LOADED with talent right now.

...."loaded with talent?" Today's NBA is so pathetically flawed so as to not even be recognizable basketball! Shooting percentages are so bad and assist to turnover ratio's so out of whack....that only Stevie Wonder could say it's a watchable product! Howz this for a recent boxscore: The Hornets scored 76 points....shot 32%.....and had 9 assists......and WON the game! There are only 3, maybe 4 teams in the entire league that are "watchable" without using a barf bag! Fortunately for me, the Atlanta Hawks are one of them and I get to see them for free on local T.V. 3 times a week! They regularly have between 25 and 30 assists.....and almost always shoot close to 50% from the field!

You say in "Today's NBA" "Shooting percentages are so bad"

As opposed to which era?

...it only stands to reason that today's low shooting percentages are the result of the implementing of the 3 point shot, which is taken farther away from the basket and thus results in more misses than the shorter 2 point shot. You couple that with guys who THINK they are good 3 point shooters but are not....and guys who disregard the coaches directives to work for a "better percentage" shot....you have these pathetically poor box scores that could make a billy goat barf! And when 3 point shots are contested, rather than attempted when wide open, well, you have unwatchable basketball!

Again, in which era did they shoot better? Pick a year.
