Greatest Athlete Ever

Why were there only like 5 horses in that race? (understand secretariat still set track records).

Michael Jordan IMO by far. This is a guy that coming into the league had major weaknesses (defense and outside shooting) He worked on those weaknesses making them some of his greatest strengths. He got cut from his high school basketball team and he worked hard making sure that he would never not give nothing but his all ever again. He didn't do good when moving into baseball, but when returning from basketball after his first retirement, it only took about 2 months and everyone knew he was the king once again. 6 championships never seeing a game 7. And this is with retiring for 2 years. Not to mention when you look at the Chicago Bulls roster for the years they won, you will see a good team, but not great considering the competition. It was all Jordan. If you would like to argue then ask yourself why the Bulls weren't even close to a good team during his retirement with almost the same lineup minus Jordan. If the game was on the line, the ball was in Jordan's hands and he delivered.

Jordan getting cut is so exagerated. He didn't play his freshmen year because the varsity spots were already promised to returning players by the coach. It is not like he wasn't good enough as a senior to play on his varsity team or anything...

Ok lets say he was never cut.... still, the greatest of all time. That was not the primary reason, just one of a thousand.

LeBron James is the most physically gifted athlete of all-time. He could easily be a MVP like football player at multiple positions. He could play baseball, almost any track event, probably hockey too.

Those other athletes are great, but not on the same athletic field as James.

as much as this pains me to say it.
but imho i think anderson silva and jon jones are better atletes than lebron.

probably those 2 and usian bolt are the greatest athletes now.

This is valid if you're arguing that Jordan is the greatest basketball player ever. But if Jordan were the greatest athlete ever, he probably would have been better than mediocre at baseball.
