For anyone interested, Mariah has an exceptional ability to hit, hold, and control the "whistle register" of the human vocal range. You have probably also heard this with children screaming, which is the most common time when it is heard really from what I understand. Our daughter's voice coach told us about this as she was helping my daughter increase her vocal range. There are some people able to hit this high tone, and there have been a handful of popular singers who could do so, but rarely does it manifest as it does with Mariah, who supposedly has this as an innate ability whereas most people have to train to be able to reach it.

While Mariah was not only beautiful but could sing! Nearly every song she made in the 90s and 2000s was awesome. I remember the Butterfly album being fantastic. Wasn't that released mid/late 90s? Romantic, pop, whatever.
