What's new

GSW wants their pick back.

I don't understand how the warriors "And nearly toppled the Jazz in Round 2! (Sooooooo close … I'm still shaking my head.)". It was a 4-1 series.

Yeah, it was a little hiccup in an otherwise great read. He fudged the facts for dramatic effect - which casts doubt on the rest of it, but the guy can spin a great article. I love Bill Simmons.

I haven't read the article, but games one and two were REALLY close. If they win one game in those first two, everything about that series changes.

There was a crucial call late in game 2 I think where Fisher flopped and got a call that could have easily been a shooting foul. That win would have very likely given GS the series.

Still, the Jazz did win 4-1, which doesn't appear close at all.
So calling it "close" requires some explaining, which you guys did. Bill Simmons couldn't have without interrupting the flow of the article.
Better to be entertaining than anal.

If the Jazz do end up with both GSW's pick AND their own pick this year maybe the Jazz can trade their own pick (pick 14 probably) + Harris (or whatever) for Curry + whatever. Maybe squeeze one of their second rounders out of them.

Jazz are in the driver's seat, so screw Lacob.

I can't see why we'd trade the pick if we get it this year, unless they give us 2 future #1's, which I doubt they'd do. As Numerica suggested, it's far more likely to happen if we DON'T get the pick this year.

We're not trading that pick for anything less than it's worth. We can stop talking about that. That was clearly GS's desperate GM pandering to his customers, trying to boost morale via the media.

Now, on the side of things that matter, today was a great day. Cleveland lost by 1 in overtime. It looks like Detroit is going to barely lose as well. And GS won quite easily in an away game over the hornets, with Thompson having an awesome game. And you all were worried?

You guys don't know how lucky that Detroit loss was. Ben Gordon was 9-9 on his three pointers, but somehow they couldn't win at the end even though they led 115-111 with 55 seconds left.
