Not gonna rehash the case for (or against) Hayward, but will say if he only gets 8 million a year offers it will make DL look like a genius.

It comes down to roster construction brother. Overpay Hayward and it affects your whole team. I think we'd all like to keep him but I'm not going to break the bank and affect our other signings.

I think other teams are going to overpay him to take try to take him away, something like $13 M (puke) and I sadly think we will end up matching.

I bet if we looked at the wing players getting $13 M we'd realize Hay isn't worth that.

I think teams won't waste their time offering that low. They know they'll have to offer $2 M more per to have a chance at us not matching. Sucky position for us to be in.

LOL...may I remind you that Hayward has been in the league for FOUR seasons now. He's a vet. How much longer do we need to be patient for? What, another 4 years? Sorry WYSIWYG.
 
If we are getting a guy who averages about 45% field goal, and about 40% on threes for his career while playing decent defense and has some ball handling skills, then I want that guy on our team. Re sign Hayward just below the max and I will be happy.
 
My biggest complaint with Hayward is or are his forced turnovers. I also don't believe he has that mental intangible that makes him clutch. Some players have and some players don't.
