Guess the Minute Total Ranking For 2024-2025 Challenge

OK, this thread might be a flop, but it's slow so whatever.

The idea is to guess the ranking of total minutes played for the Jazz this year. At the end of the year I will score your guesses similar to the Western Conference Standings prediction thread, one point for every off ranking given. For example if you guessed someone would be first in minutes and they end up fifth in minutes then that would be 4 points. No edits to your guesses after preseason starts. Do not include two way players. Factor in who will be sitting for the tank, who might potentially be traded, etc.

Here is the ranking for last season:
1. Sexton
2. Keyonte
3. Collins
4. Lauri
5. Clarkson
6. Kessler
7. Dunn
8. Fontecchio
9. Olynyk
10. THT
11. Agbaji
12. Hendricks,
13. Sensabaugh
14 Yurtseven
15. Samanic

Here is Mine (will adjust later):
1. Keyonte
2. Kessler
3. Lauri
4. Hendricks
5. Williams
6. Collins
7. Sexton
8. Clarkson
9. Collier
10. Svi
11. Eubanks
12. Mills
13. Juzang
14. Filipowski
15. Sensabaugh

  1. Keyonte
  2. Collins
  3. Lauri
  4. Hendricks
  5. Kessler
  6. Sexton (Traded Mid-Season)
  7. Williams
  8. Mills
  9. Filipowski
  10. Sensabaugh
  11. Clarkson (Also Traded Mid-Season)
  12. Collier
  13. Juzang
  14. Eubanks
  15. Svi

This is hard lmao.

Fairly confident Keyonte is #1 in minutes.

Also fairly confident Collins will be high in minutes as well just because I dont think he is likely to get traded during the season, he will play well, and he can play the 4 or 5 so I expect a fairly consistent 25 mpg and playing 70+ games.

I think Hendricks gets more minutes than Kessler just because he can play more positions and there is still going to be some Collins interference effect with Kessler's minute total, but 3-5 should all be within arm's reach of each other.

Lauri is 3rd just because I expect him to miss at least 20 games again.

Due to the Clarkson/Sexton mid-season trade Mills will get pretty consistent minutes. They will want him out there with someone like Collier so Collier isnt overburdened with failure. He will kind of be like Jesus for the young guys. He will die for their sins and take the burden of the suck off of them so they dont suck as bad.

Put Mills last as I think garbage time is a young man's game and he will be mothballed first if we tank hard at the end. I think Eubanks will be the no name guy that plays too much that its annoying. Clarkson will play and I am not sure he gets moved fast enough. Collins is on the roster all year. Juzang will have a Fontecchio light breakout and annoy people as well but it will be less annoying cuz he is actually good.

Here is how I had them roughly ranked:

1. Key
2. Sexton
2. Lauri
4. Kessler
4. Collins
6. Williams
6. Hendricks
8. Clarkson
9. Sensabaugh
9. Flip
11. Collier
12. Eubanks
12. Mills
12. Juzang
12. Svi

The implication that Clarkson will start and play 30 minutes makes me want to puke.

1. Lauri
2. Keyonte
3. Collins
4. Sexton
5. Hendricks
6. Kessler
7. Collier
8. Williams
9. Flip
10. Sensabaugh
11. Clarkson
12. Eubanks
13. Svi
14. Juzang
15. Mills

Gotta wonder if Locke's opinion is simply echoing something he may have heard from someone internal with the Jazz. There's no chance he would come to the conclusion that Clarkson > Sexton based on his standard way of evaluating players.

If Clarkson is getting more minutes than Sexton it's because the Jazz know they are stuck with Clarkson so they just want to keep him as a happy vet vs Sexton who they can put him in the role the NBA largely sees him in and have him succeed, so his value remains at a decent level?

Would be kind of insane to me though, regardless of any circumstance, if Clarkson is both starting and getting more minutes than Sexton.

The part that confuses me is "Clarkson is gonna start because better than Sexton". IMO, the reason to keep Sexton is because he has the chance to be a star. If you aren't even willing to give him a chance (at the cost of Clarkson's minutes), we should have already traded him. Being a starter is better for his trade value whether another team wants him to be a 6th man or not. The only way benching him can protect his value is if he actually collapses as a starter and can only perform as a 6th man....he was significantly better as a starter than 6th man last year.

Regardless of personal feelings about Sexton....if Locke is echoing FO/Hardy opinion on Sexton it does seem like they go out of their way at every chance to slight him. They don't demonstrate much faith in him.

The tricky one is Clarkson. I think he's likely to get moved. The rotation is likely to settle into this...

Sexton / Clarkson / Collier
Keyonte / Svi / Juzang
Lauri / Williams / Sensabaugh
Hendricks / Filipowski / Potter
Kessler / Collins / Eubanks

1 Keyonte
2 Sexton
3 Lauri
4 Hendricks
5 Kessler
6 Clarkson
7 Collins
8 Williams
9 Eubanks
10 Svi
11 Sensabaugh
12 Filipowski
13 Collier
14 Juzang
15 Potter / Tshiebwe

One more bump. I didn't realize that we have a preseason game against the NBL team on the 4th, but I'll go ahead and keep the deadline for the 7th.

Probably nobody cares, and that's ok.
