What's new

Guys, we are only 2.5 games out of the 3 seed. And only 4 out of the 2.

This squad without Rubio looks about half as good as last years team....and plays like it, too! We should never have cutted that team!

I suppose we beat the Bucks at full strength, thought it required a serious of improbable events down the stretch.

Utah controlled that game in a lot of ways, though. We led by as many as 22. We let them go on a run in the second half, but overall it was much more than luck at the end that won that game.

Right, so that's the other thing people are complaining about in this thread: blown leads. Mostly due to the fact that the moment our starters sit, we get such awesome lineups as Mudiay-Royce-Niang-Green-whomever and we couldn't score if the whomever was James Harden.

But hey, if a game where we blew a 22-point lead is a positive sign of the things to come, more power to you.

My concern is that while good teams will sometimes take a while to get going, there are usually signs of that along the way. I haven't seen much from the Jazz. It's not like we have the occasional game that you can point to and say "this is what we'll look like when we get some consistency."

We're 8-8 in the last 16 games. The 8 wins have come against teams with a .348 combined record. The recent stretch of 4-1 has also been against teams with a record of winning one in three of their games. Last time we beat a team that went into our game with a winning record was 40(!!) days ago. That's the last time this team actually looked okay against good teams, the three day stretch where we beat the Sixers and the Bucks. At home, mind you. Away, we've basically beaten the Wolves and the Grizzlies.

The Jazz have flat out been terrible for the amount of talent of this team. You can point to the fact that we do have a winning record, or that the schedule has allegedly been tough, but the fact remains that the Jazz have so far shown that the only teams they can win against are the early season favourites to land the #1 pick. We beat 3 teams who currently have a winning record. We beat the Clippers without PG and Kawhi, we beat the Sixers without Simmons, and I suppose we beat the Bucks at full strength, thought it required a serious of improbable events down the stretch.

Can anyone say that they've seen one game this year where they thought "Hey, if we play like this in the playoffs, we might make some noise?"

Good post. I can remember the Bucks game where we looked like the team we're supposed to be. But one or two games like the Bucks game over 25 or so games isn't that great at all. Especially for a team that many have said can contend.

I had a dream last night by the way, 50 NBA games had been played, but as much as I tried to see what our record was in my dream, I couldn't, wouldn't let me.

Any dream interpretation specialists on the board?

I think it means you are sexually attracted to @Saint Cy of JFC … not that there is anything wrong with that.

Your mother didn't hug you enough and you're probably a budding serial that enjoys crossdressing. That would be my professional take.
