Does his injury cause him to be counted as one of the fifteen regular roster spots until he is healed at which time the Jazz release him?
No. He can be cut at any time. They still have to pay him if he is unable to play basketball due to his injury by Opening Night, but he doesn't count as a roster spot. The amount they pay him depends on his contract - if it's an Exhibit 9, they pay him $6k and that's it. Otherwise his contract becomes active and they pay him salary until he is fit to play basketball again, or until the end of the season. Although "per team policy, details of the contracts were not disclosed", I would expect all our training camp invitees are on Exhibit 9 contracts.Does his injury cause him to be counted as one of the fifteen regular roster spots until he is healed at which time the Jazz release him?
I can now foresee a wave of homeytennis threads speculating on whether the jazz might be interested in Player X, who is currently injured, but certain to be released from Team Y once he's cleared for contact.
Let's talk about how massive this guy is. He's ginormous. Purdue listed him at 290, there's no f'ing way. If he's under 300 I'll eat my shorts.
