So we are in the scariest month of the year. Post your favorite halloween stories. Here is a decent one from snopes to kick things off.

I know we have had ghost threads and such in the past, but what are you favorite halloween specific stories.
Personally, one year I had to work on Halloween (more often than not the case) and I arrived home around 9:00 PM with trick or treaters all over the place. I sat in my car for a few minutes, then walked up to the door behind a family knocking on our door. I really didn't have any intentions of scaring anyone, and I just stood there waiting politely while my kids jumped out at the trick or treaters and their mom and dad laughed and waved. I was behind the dad, a big guy that kind of looks like a biker dude with lots of tattoos, bald with a goatee. As his kids finished up he turned around and there I was. He screamed out loud, high-pitched like the proverbial "little girl" and threw his handful of treats he had weaseled from his kids straight up in the air and fell over one of his kids as he frantically tried to backpedal away from me. It was absolutely hilarious. I mean, I know I am no spring pig, but really?

On 26 October 2005, the corpse of a 42-year-old woman was left suspended in public view for hours in Frederica, Delaware, because her lifeless body was assumed to be yet another Halloween display. The unnamed woman hung herself from a tree located across a moderately busy road from some homes. Her body, suspended about 15 feet above the ground, could easily be seen from passing vehicles.
