What's new

Hard to see Knight as the #3 pick based on this analysis..

The vibe I'm getting from most media outlets and Jazz peeps is similar to last year's when they discussed Hayward.

I'm pretty sure we're going with Knight. A decent athlete who is smart. Safe pick. Which is typical of this franchise.

Walt Perrin was on sportsbeat last night. While he talked about many prospects, he clearly favored Knight. A very smart student, who's likely to improve, a winner, and should be a good leader for a franchise.

those were basically the things he said. No other player came close to that level of compliments.

I thought it was a very interesting interview. When he was spoke about Kanter it seemed like the Jazz have made up their decision on him (I couldn't tell whether it was they'd take him or not at #3), when Kirkland was saying how Kanter is basically a mystery and how no one has really seen him play, Perrin quickly jumped in and said that the Jazz have more tape on him than people would think, dating back to when he was 15-16 yrs old. It should also be noted that the Jazz worked out Kanter a week after the DWill trade and were the 1st to work him out after the combine. I'm just sayin...

The thing that a lot of people on this board forget is that he has played almost every year for his national team so while probably grainy there probably is footage of him in real game actions. By the way he dominated those tournaments.

Not sure what you mean by smokescreen. Are you suggesting that they have created a smokescreen that we're just interested in Kanter or that we're going to take him? I think if anything they've put up a smokescreen that we're not going to take him. But the tough thing with the Jazz is that where there's smoke there's never a fire. Even in the case with the DWill trade, there was no smoke before or after the fact, just a bunch of radiation.

I don't know how many times I have to repeat this but Knight is very athletic.

I dont really know myself. I just see a lot smoke.

I doubt there are many that will be truly upset with a Knight pick. There's just not many obvious options at #3.
