Harpring vs DWill

Deron is right Harping was pro-owner but like most anything people's opinions usually tend to lean towards their own self-interest. DW is pro-player because he is an active player. I certainly don't think this is a feud as some people are saying. It is simply two people who have a different viewpoint on the issue. Speculating that Harp and DW do not like each other is purely speculation. I think people are trying to make something out of nothing here.

I respect Harpring - he is a smart dude...while other players where spending their daily meal money he saved good chunk of it. He as well made quite a bit of money by investing smart. Plus he was the strongest Jazz player while he played... I read he was bench pressing and squating heavier weights then Malone.
To bad as game announcer Matt sucks...
As far as this feud goes I agree with Matt. Deron should shut up.

I don't believe for a second Harpring could bench more than Malone. Not for a second.

I'm sorry Deron, but Matt actually read the terms of the deal unlike most of the players. Maybe give him credit for knowing what he's talking about?

If the deal was ok two weeks ago, and it was, right is right. There is no selling out the truth.

. . . Except that Deron's "pro-player" stance was really "pro-agent" and possibly "pro-superstar", given that they gained back a fraction of a percentage point at most (making somewhere between 50% and 51% more plausible, vs. 50-50 that was available for a long time) and that many of the "system issues" that favor player movement, allowing superstars and agents to get richer by abandoning small markets in favor of in bigger markets (and bigger sponsorships).

I agree that they probably still are on good terms, but DW's stance was irrationally too pro-player (and dragging down the NBA-dependent employees, businesses, and fans with it), whereas Harp's stance was more "fair" and pro-fan IMHO.

Matt is right, DeRon is wrong. And like him or not, Harp is one of the better sidekick announcers in the league.

The problem in our announcing team is, and always has been, Bolerhack. He sucks, straight up. He is now pulling Harpring down. It is sad really.

That said, I think Matt has it right.

This was a product of the superstar players still wanting to choose where they play without restrictions, and getting more money in the process. The new CBA does nothing to maintain balance. Guitaro got it right.

The point is to create a system where every team has a fair shot.

They didn't make any headway in that direction really, and it could cost the league down the road.

Also, the economy combined with the idiocy of this lock-out/fight amongst privileged millionaires might come back to bite them all in the pocket book. If the product isn't any better, then fans who just found out they can spend their money elsewhere and get as much enjoyment from other activities may not come back with their full-dollar expenditures equal to their pre-lock-out outlay. This whole mess could be more portentious than the league or players can imagine.
