No surprises really. I never saw Harris as a good fit for the Jazz - we already have pretty good passers in Hayward and Burks - what we need ideally is a cool head a the helm who can shoot the occasional 3pt (or drive and finish/kick - ala Watson).

• Devin Harris, PG, Utah Jazz

His 0-of-7 clank-fest against Dallas on Thursday was a bit of an outlier, but it still fits within a miserable season for Harris, who is shooting 35 percent, playing inconsistent defense and posting career-worst numbers almost across the board. Harris is just lost in Utah, reduced to managing a post-heavy offense that demands floor spacing he cannot provide. At his best, Harris is a pick-and-roll driver who piles up free-throw attempts. Utah’s offense, built around Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson, doesn’t cater to those skills. Harris has attempted just 14 shots out of the pick-and-roll all season, according to Synergy Sports, and he is attempting fewer free throws per 36 minutes than in any season since his rookie year.

The Jazz are open to moving Harris, according to ESPN.com’s Marc Stein, and they have performed better on both ends — by huge amounts — with Earl Watson in Harris’ place. Watson has done nicely as a feisty pace changer off the bench, but if you’re playing him 30 minutes a game — and getting little from your wing players — your team is probably in trouble.

Look, we may not be able to get **** out of Harris in a trade. We just might have to deal with that reality. So, if Harris doesn't work with the low-post heavy offense that the jazz's starting unit (I almost typed "unity") demands, then Ty needs to move him to the second unit and institute more PnR there with Kanter and Favors--who, as it stands, need more PnR too. Hell, move Hayward back to the second unit as well and let Harris/Burks/Hayward/Favors/Kanter run a PnR type system while Watson/CJ/Howard/Millsap/Jefferson run the low-post thing we've committed to.

That is, of course, if you can't get Harris's *** out of town. Cuz that's where he needs to go. adios.

I just don't agree with this doom and gloom opinion. Just because he's worth **** in our system, doesn't mean he has the same value in another. His value has dropped, but I agree with Stein suitors will come knocking.

There are teams in the NBA that are trying to increase their pace of play. Toronto and the Lakers are just two that I know would at least entertain the idea of a Harris trade.

"****" is a relative term, guy.

getting a scrub and a late-first or second-round draft pick out of Harris could be defined as "****" relative to the promise he had. And, yet, I'd take that right now.

Not rocket science here.

I'm not in love with Harris, but if we can't trade him, this is exactly what I think we should do. See if he can get Favors / Kanter going with the PnR and get our younger bigs more confident going to the rim.

I've been saying we should try starting Watson for ages, but got shot down each time with comments like "Oh.. give Harris a chance" or "Oh.. how can you compare a career back up PG with a former All Star PG"

Bottom line is, if Watson was playing in the last 3 min. of the Mavs game I think we would have had a much better chance of winning.
