The Eric Gordon who has been unable to stay healthy since his rookie season? Has cartilage damage in his right knee and is now coming back after having surgery on his left knee? Matt Harpring 2.0.

Besides, it will confuse the heck out of Boler and Boone trying to pronounce "Eric" distinctly different than "Aaron." I guess they could just say "Gordon with the ball" and have a good chance of being correct most of the time. Houston would likely go for the salary dump in your second proposal. "Lint" sounds like a decent backup PG, but I wouldn't want to deal with his laundry.

I think he means Aaron Gordon, the draft prospect, because he had him playing the 4. Personally, I think Gordon will play much more 3 in the NBA. A lot of people compare him to the Matrix, Shawn Marion.

This trade would get us all the way to 10th in the west while simultaneously killing our cap space and making the team borderline unwatchable... we'd be stupid not to do it.

:x forgot future pick on Gordon trade. Probably 2017 first rounder.

Si señor. If he stays healthy, we win. If not, more minutes for Wilcox! :D

Who cares if it kills the cap space next season if it's all that extra fat just drops off after it ends? Favors Asik frontcourt would dominate the league.

I care... it doesn't make us a playoff team and doesn't get us a noteworthy future asset. Plus it kills our cap the next year, because Gordon ain't opting out of his $15 M player option.

This is an expensive minimal short term gain that sets back the long-term plan. I've already given it too much of my time.

Hayward isn't our answer at SF...

And that's saying a lot coming from me especially.

I'd disagree. In the right system under the right coach I think he would do great. And we got the coach 8)
Especially not being the main scorer. Dat Alec Burks doe

So we are going to have the same problem as the Rockets. Asik and Howard couldn't co-exist as neither could play the perimeter. News flash... Favors can't play out on the perimeter either.

Since when does being 45 mil under cap make a team playoff contenders? Add his 15 mil to what the 2015-16 team salary will probably be and the Jazz are still 20 mil under cap... How does it set the team back exactly?

Vonleh can play the perimeter though. :) probably. Or Gordon perhaps. Whoever it is though, they have a year to play behind Favors. Then the year after, Favors goes back to,5 and Vonleh/Gordon starts at 4. But regardless, 50 dorrars says whoever the Jazz draft at 5 is gonna be a backup next season

Favors and Asik wouldn't co-exist though because they both wanted to start and Asik was relegated to bench duty, because he and Howard plays the same position

The only difference is that Favors prefers playing 4. Both Howard and Asik knew they were 5's therefore they couldn't coexist. It's not like Favors and Asik would be fighting for minutes. Both would be starters. Favors would play 4, whoop ***, Asik would play 5, whoop ***.

We aren't playoff contender either way... I'd rather use the cap space to pick up first rounders or young guys with upside. And your cap projection is way off. Say it is $65 M... We pay Favors $13 M, Hayward $11-13 M, and Burks $7-8 M, plus Gordon at $15 M puts us at $46 M... Burke, Gobert, and the 5th pick & 23rd pick is another $7 M. Puts us at $53 M for 8 players... add in cap holds and we're right around $10 M in cap space.

The fact is cap space is an asset... Your trade makes bad use of an asset and really doesn't fit with what we are doing. The reality of our situation is that it probably does not help us to win 5-8 more games next year. We aren't close enough to make a win now trade. It would actually set us back to win an extra few games this year. Had we lost 3 more games this year, we'd likely have a better draft pick right now. Having Marvin and RJ lead us to a couple extra wins this year hurt the long-term outlook of the franchise.

I'd be on board if NO and HOU were sending a bunch of picks to make this happen.
