Which deal would you rather take?

D-Will:

Devin Harris
Favors
Nets Pick (Turned into 3rd Overall)
GS Pick (remains to be seen)

CP3:

Eric Gordon
Kaman
Aminu
Unprotected Minnesota 1st

CP3 deal looks a little better doesn't it?

Another important question is do you think Deron would have the same value as CP3, league-wide?

Wow they finally got it done. The Clippers gave up a lot in Gordon, Kaman, Aminu, and Minny's pick (likely be top 5 in a stacked draft).

They are both good packages.

The best "piece" that's a player is Gordon, and the best "pick" could be Minnesota's first.

Best potential probably is Favors, and the Jazz got lucky with the pick and got it at #3.

Solid all around.

I like the Jazz's haul because it's a more coherent rebuilding strategy. You can build a team around Favors in the middle. Whereas Gordon and Aminu aren't going to change the direction of a franchise. Obviously, who NOR gets in the draft--their own pick and the Minny pick--will go a long way to complete the deal. But there are only really one or two franchise bigs in this next draft and no obvious franchise PGs. NOR would have to get a top-2 pick.

Still surprised Clippers splurged that much. Feel bad for Gordon, I think they told him they wouldn't be trading him a week ago.

Gordon and Aminu definitely have potential to change franchise. Gordon might be the best 2-guard 5 years down the road. Aminu is still really young and had a decent rookie year, don't really know too much about him but he was a Mid-lottery pick and most likely has good potential.

I don't think highly of Aminu, but Gordon is definitely a Mitch Richmond type player. Can easily see him as the best player on a middling team, or second best on a great team.

This trade sucks for Clips unless CP signs extension. And even with extension this trade is meh.

There's no way you could know the league would squeeze the Min. pick and Gordon out of them. If we weren't living the the twilight zone this week I'd take the Jazz package.

I'm thinking NOR may have a worse record this year than Minny. They lost David West and Chris Paul. They may well be in the lottery.

I think it's a good move for the Clips. It moves them up a level as a team, and it gives them a chance to win over Chris Paul who won't have that many compelling options next summer. They have a good shot at getting in the playoffs and making the 2nd round, followed by a run in free agency. It's historic for them to get a major player in a trade.

NBA wants to have a team that has a potentially bright and positive future to sell, and not an ominous, doomsday team the Hornets were currently in.
